On the back of the comparitor is a (coil and) deverter arm that flutters because of mis-adjustment of the potentiometer on the control board. it can be adjusted via a hole on the front bottom right. Usually this adjustment is for the sensitivity or "reject/accept" coins . The normal setting is all the way to the right (clockwise) for high sensitivity and to the left (counterclockwise) to lessen sensitivity.....sometimes the setting needs a little tweak back-and-forth to ensure good contact.
