Well,
I changed the battery and got a 83F code.. bawling
I put a jumper on and held the pseudo and test button while powering up...
I first got "CH-P" then waited a few seconds until I got a "CH-C" and removed the jumper and was good to go! Dancing Party

It's a nice 2CM game called Double Wild Rose...
purplish 16"glass and belly with a pinkish light beige cabinet...pretty game from a little old lady.... Tongue Out

It only takes old bills though...can somebody give me some tips on upgrading the DBV?
It has a sticker on it depicting that it's a JCM @2000 DBV200   ID 044/045 USA         V2.3 0/5 USA
But you know stickers though...they're almost never accurate or up-to-date...

I'm leaning that this is a Bally 5500 so far... Scratch Head

Now how many times have we all saw a post from SOB   " POST A PICTURE" !!!!   Scratch Head Scratch Head   Mark it works so who cares you didn't do the clear right.  If you saw a CH P it should be followed by CL P  (partial clear ) you weren't pressing hard enough on the two buttons when you powered up.  frying pan frying pan

It's a Bally S5500, that's why it has a DBV200, a S6000 has WBA.  You just need the update for your BV.  Is it a flash unit or eprom?  If it's flash you can convert it to eprom.

Thanks,
Wayne

Thanks Wayne,
Now I know what I have... applause
The DBV has an eprom on the bottom.
Would you be able to sell me an updated eprom?
I would need some set-up instructions as well...
and any other needed chips to re-enable it?

That's the best part about Bally and WMS.
You don't need a chip to enable the DBV.
Just plug and play...

Ahhhh....okay...Thanks Neon!  Hail I better do some digging around for manuals and stufff and
see what I can do to this puppy... yummy
I 've already installed an "Auto-play" max bet button on this Bally 5500...
what can I do next? Hmmm....stir the pot / get cooking
Has anyone done some cool functional modifications on one?

Any recommendations for some good kits for this platform?
Which ones are your favorites for a Bally 5500?

Hi Buzz,
I think they used them in aristocrats.  I have never seen one in a bally machine, yet anyway.

thanks,
Wayne

Your probably right. I went out and checked  one of the 6000 I have.  It has a BV made by Ardac its a funny looking thing to. It has a Bally sticker and AFRICA markings.  I have two one the denomination is R 1.00 the other R  .25
