I seem to routinely knock my bill feeders offline by just generally goofing with the system on both Bally and IGT machines.  What am I doing wrong?  I'm not knocking the cables out, but I might be goofing with the reset button or sliding the MPU tray out/in, etc...  Is there a software option that I'm tripping or something?  They come back online after I futz with it long enough, but it's not like I'm putting the SET/CLEARs in or anything.  I never know why they quit recognizing, and I never know what I did to fix them either.

I'm more venting than looking for an answer, I realize how vague this problem/statement is.  Maybe I've just got crappy old BV's with attitude problems.  Hmm.

Thanks Mopar,
I have the same DBV200SH problems on a SG150B Plus as well...
I'll try your suggestion next time...

I don't know exactly how, but apparently I zapped something on the MPU...  I guess...  When I first noticed the intermittent problem it was workling "less and less" and I could swear pushing on the top of the BV assembly helped, but then it went 100% dead.  I switched Bally 5500 MPU's, and the "good" board works just fine with both bill assemblies and in either machine.  Putting the "bad" board in either machine - no BV.  I've reset the RAM and DIP swicthes 100 times, I guess I just nuked something on the first board such that it no longer likes BV's, strange.

This is the machine where I fritzed a power supply by slamming the MPU into the backplane.  Guess I have to try new ROMs or a board or something...

Glad to hear you got it going,

Make sure you have the power switched off prior to removing or reinserting the main board.

Thanks,
Wayne
