There was an upgrade kit that included a main board, but it was expensive.  Ruby is a Maxx game.  I don't think your current board will go that high.  You would be better off finding a Maxx Ruby and selling your cd based gold.

I have an XL gold that i had upgraded to a Double Diamond maxx. (even tho diamond is a maxx game.) now when I boot up it says MAXX but some games run very slow. like quintzee and 1 trivia game. I needed to buy the key to button adapter for the security key and change from CD-rom to Hard drive. there was also 1 jumper on the i/o board that i needed to remove (jumper off, but i can't remember which one. i don't think there are that many...). i think on ebay you can get a hard drive and security key diamond maxx for $78. then get the security key adapter. ohh and i had upgraded my ram also to 64 megs.

Hey Pokernut, when you said update to a newer game,I guess you mean an Ion or Evo Scratch Head Before you buy either one of them,do some research  yes I've had my Ion (3500$) for about 18 months and and did not research it until after I bought it  frying pan . I'm trying to sway the wife to let me build a "pool house" near the pool and if i can  applause I'm leaving the Ion and Jade where they are and getting a I-Touch 10 for the bar in the "pool house"
