I had that problem when I tried to hook up my ICT printer to a Dell laptop...
There are certain USB adapters you can get so you can hook up a serial cable...
they usually come with some software CD that you need to install in order to open the port.

You can probably go to a mom&pop computer shop and get a userd laptop running Windows98 for about $20.00.

I have about 16 PentII's with 4mb ram in a pile at home, I have recycled the batteries as none would hold a charge and used the shell just so there was not a big gapping hole.
They work just fine off of the adapter power. They run PSP and Office 95/97 just fine, the web interface is good as long as you don't try and run any video or sound apps.
NLG works just fine. I would offer to send you one but shipping from Canada would run you over $50.00

I was thinking that you would buy a good notebook for useful things then buy the junk unit for PSP.

Bunker, have you actually used the USB/Serial cable/software with a CHAMII+ and PSP? If you have, was is difficult to set up the software supplied with the cable so that PSP and the Mikohn could communicate, and in what operating system(s) did you set it up? I think that it would be helpful to know this information before someone decided on buying the cable vs. an old laptop.

Okay,
To be on the safe side...hold off on purchasing the Cablestogo thingy until I test it again tomorrow...
it's been a while since I've even used it...
I can confirm that my Dell laptop with the Vista operating system does indeed communicate
with the ICT printer as I had to use it Friday to reprogram a few messages on the printout paper.
I will double check in the morning in my shop with it to see if it "talks" to the Con1S and changes jackpot do messages...
I just seem to remember that it was a pretty easy process  yes
but I think I had to put a jumper on the harness before plugging it into the CablestoGo serial adapter... Scratch Head 2
Please be patient with me...lol...it's a short golf season for me...

And what COM port does the CablestoGo serial adapter support? My version of PSP only suppoorts COM1 and COM2.
