Can someone tell me the size of the bulbs used to backlight the reels on a WMS Jackpot Party?  I'm thinking of replacing them with LED's.

Thanks,
Rob

Hey Rob -

I can't remember the bulb off the top of my head, but you probably won't have much luck with the LEDs unless you use really bright multi-LED ones.  The lamps are very bright for the voltage they run at.  The sockets are flasher/555 type.  I tried some LEDs in mine and just put the bulbs back.

I actually went out and checked my games out and I have the 259 bulbs in the Jackpot Party and the Stampede Deluxe. Scratch Head  I thought about putting LED's in there too but I put one in and didn't like it.  I also tried LED's in the 'Play 3 (or5) plexiglas but didn't like it there either.  I like them in the buttons though. applause

Are you one of those guys with LEDs underneath the car?....with spinning hubcaps and fender feelers?
I'm visualizing you driving a pick up truck ( equipped with tailgate nets) with Dale Earnhardt racing gloves and a can of chew...
a set of bulls balls hanging off the tow hitch and camouflage rear windows...

I agree completely. When I looked into it, my original intention was to change all of the bulbs to LEDs on my Dotmation. However, when I tried the LEDs behind the reels, in the 5 light sockets on the left side of the reel glass, and all of the other locations behind the glass, I decided to leave them as is. The only bulbs that I ended up replacing were the the bulbs in the buttons.

Now ya know,  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing I thought about having the under carriage colored LED's and LED's on the valve stems (no ghetto spinning hubcaps thanks) but opted to have the LED brake/turn lights and LED reverse lights and blue headlights instead.  I am also going to be ordering the LED brake bar that goes across the back of my truck, so you were close, I have a truck,  Tongue Out and I have LED's on it  Tongue Out  I decided to go with the classic 'cool' look instead of the 'redneck' look the rest of my family is so fond of.  frying pan  Also, substitute an authentic imitation leather  bust gut laughing (black vinyl) tonno cover for a tailgate net, and don't forget the stainless steel running boards.  Can I put LED's on them??  bust gut laughing frying pan bust gut laughing

And BTW - EW to the chew and LOL on the bulls balls.

So the word you are looking for now is, anyway......

Anyway, I wanted to replace all my bulbs with LED's because they are cheaper to run and don't heat up so much but that comes with a price.  I would suggest sticking to the regular bulbs on everything but the buttons.  They make the buttons look better, IMHO

ttth You have to pull both legs at the same time.  This way I can run in a straight line, if you pull only one leg I will run around in circles Scratch Head and that's no fun. Duh! bust gut laughing rotflmao bust gut laughing so anyway......

what would black bulbs look like in a stampede deluxe??  I actually have the classic white buttons right now.  I wish the LED's looked good behind the reel strips and other places.

The standard buttons use #86 light bulbs.
