I should mention that (for a Complete clear) you need to hold the test and pseudo buttons while you boot the machine with the clear chip installed.

as you are performing the clear, the display should show chc then change to clc once complete.  If it is showing clp then it is only a partial clear.  You sometimes have to hold the test and pseudo coin pretty hard for them to work.

Thanks,
Wayne

p.s.  Jim at Blueridge usually has chips.

A partial clear with not do it. You need to do a complete clear. You should see ch C, not chP.

As Wayne said in reply #27, you might have to press the test and pseudo coin buttons quite hard for them to work. Make sure you are pressing them hard before you hit the power switch. If you're pressing them very hard and you still get a chP (P=partial clear), then BOTH* of your buttons might be bad.

*You will only get a partial clear if you turn the power on with NO buttons pressed.

ADD:

  • The first letter C is always a C and never changes.
  • The second letter H changes to an L after you power up and let go of the buttons to indicate that the requested clear has been performed successfully.
(I believe that it stands for high and low states.)
  • The third letter indicates the type of clear you are requesting.  C= Complete clear, F = Full clear,  P = Partial clear

Hope that clarifies things a bit.

Did you ever see a CHC?

"as in the video is 5 seconds press is released and we start"

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here, but it's important to press the buttons* and HOLD them with the power OFF. Turn the machine on while you are still holding the buttons. Keep holding the buttons until you Confirm that you have CHC in the window -- NOT CHP, and then release the buttons. You should then see CLC.

If you see CHP or CHF, it means that you either didn't hold down the buttons completely or that your buttons are not working properly.

If you did get a CHC, then you might have installed a bad battery, or your CMOS chips might be bad.

* Make sure you are pressing the correct buttons: "pseudo coin" and "test".

If this is an upright, then the ends of the strips should align with the pay line (1 line machines).  If not then your strips are likely in the wrong notch.

Thanks,
Wayne
