Hi All

Currently a number of my machines are running on SP1174 base and the rest on SP1213.
Am trying to upgrade one of my machines from SP1174 to SP1213 and having very strange results.
If i put in the SP1213 machine boots up to code 61. Pressing the test switch takes me to 61 -1. The problem is that turning the reset switch after a door closed does nothing. Mach stays on 61-1.
If i put back the SP1174 base machine resets normally.
Have tried clear chip and set chip and nothing works - machine wont boot up with SP1213 base.
Anybody have any ideas ? Machine is going to get hurt soon  Tongue Out

Regards
Ian

It sounds like the new chip you are using might be too slow.
Do you have the option to burn it onto a faster chip ?

I don't have any information at all on the SP1213. Is it possible that it's intended for a 16MHz board? Just a thought.

Hi All

Thanks for the suggestions - problem solved
A number of my machines have been modified by techs that came before me. They bypassed the door optics by wiring the output from the door optic emitter via a switch to the input of the door optic reciever.
During normal operation this seems to work fine on both the SP1213 and SP1174 base sw. However it does not work when the machine is in a 61 - 1 condition and need a door close and reset to clear  Scratch Head
Once i fitted original IGT optics everything worked fine.

Must admit i am curious as to why the mod would work during normal operation but with a 61-1 error.

PS - SP1213 is a international base that was developed for South Africa and allows cashless functionality for the S+ platform as well as some specific reporting requirements that were required by SA regulators.

Regards
Ian
