I had to show you guys this thing I just made and tested.
I didn't have any spare receiver optics for my machine.
I did have a couple of old burned out 3-LED coin-in optic boards.
I removed the receiver optic LED from the board and used an old 2-pin optic connector.
I soldered the two wires to the optic LED and wrapped a little black vinyl tape to protect it.
Pictured below is is the homemade receiver cabinet-side optic.>>>
The LED snaps into the plastic holder perfectly and it works like a charm!
It's a good thing I didn't throw out those old coin-in boards.... yes

"If Jim Lovell could land a washing machine, our stayouttadabunker could get it to fly." Hail applause applause   (twisted quote from Apollo 13)

[original quote was, (Jim Lovell's mother): "If they could get a washing machine to fly, my Jimmy could land it."]

I'm waiting for you to connect one of your autoplaying slots to a wireless network and rig it to send you a message on the internet as well as a pop up message on your TV screen when the machine hits something. Tongue Out

I didn't say that you'd be the pilot. What I meant was, that if someone wanted a flying washing machine, you'd be the one to patch together the bits and bobs to make it work. propeller

I've always wanted to get a pilot's license, but my wife is vehemently opposed to it.  I should have done it when I was single.  frying pan frying pan frying pan frying pan banghead banghead banghead banghead

I could just rent a plane, fly to the nearest airport and pick up my toys!!! I don't think I can put more than 1 machine on a Cessna 182 though.  What is the weight restriction on one of those?

Those 182 aircraft engines are so weak I wouldn't put more than 20lbs. in the seat behind me...
just kidding...rev them up at the beginning of the runway and all you feel is POWER! yes
As far as weight limitations, I actually don't know really...
My Cessna 182 flight manual is stuck in the backseat pocket in the last plane I flew... Duh!
I'll reveal that it was fantastic to do takeoffs and landings...
Way better than my Microshoft Flight Simulator set up on my home computer!
I spent the better part of the 2 hrs so far flying around my hometown and where I ski during winter.
I even saw my local golf course....next time I'm taking a video camera up with me! yes
I circled around at 500 feet above my house and my family came outside and took pictures of me...
I thought that was pretty neat!
Let me see if I can pull up a manual...

I found some info from this attached link
Check out question #9...the answers are below it >>

http://www.aopa.org/asf/publications/cessna_skylane.pdf

With a full tank of fuel (92lbs.) the max. payload can be no more than 750lbs. boss

However, I would definitely weigh the machines before loading them...lol
It's much safer to fly with less weight of course... yes

I, too, would love to learn to fly, but I have too many other expensive hobbies already to take up flying. I have been up as a passenger in a small plane and in a glider. Flying in the glider was a memorable experience, but the wind noise was much greater than I had expected.

Stout, I hope that you can get in enough flight hours to get your license. yes propeller

Between work and golf...lol... I have no time  arrow

I think I'll just try to obtain the sport pilot's license for now as the requirements are somewhat easier and less expensive.

Once I get that than, over time, I'll go for the full permit...
