I just recently acquired an IGT slot machine from a friend and as usual none of these machines are ever perfect, first of all the battery was dead so it will need a ram clear, anybody know if it is a clear chip or a set chip
Also the reel mechanisms have like a rubber-plastic like washer where they meet the cam shaft (i think) two of them have perished, i tried tap washers but they just don't sit properly and are too tight, does anybody know where i could get hold of some or something similar.
Also when i went through the test and checked the reels, they would not move, (you could hear the solenoid action) i got an error 40, which is a stepper motor tilt, is this likely to be caused by the rubber washers or could it be something else
thanks

What kind of machine is it?  Can you post a couple of pictures of the inside and outside of the machine so we can get started in the right direction with helping you?  Thanks!

(For what it's worth, with an IGT S+ replacing a dead battery does not always require a RAM clear, but from your description I'm not 100% sure what model machine yuo're working on.)

Sounds like the 5 reel 1 line S+ game, they were popular for a short time. IGT recently re-released the game as a video multi-line

Here are some photos of the machine and the reel mechanisms, the rubber-plastic washer is at the top part of the photo

That's an IGT M Series machine.
I'm picking one up tomorrow to do some repair work on it.
Those washers get replaced with bearings. You will need to locate some with a 1/4" I/D  X 3/4" O/D X 1/4" width.
The one I'm picking up has the same issues and this is how I plan on fixing that problem

(Moderator, You may wish to move this and start an M series category)

Addition:
Motorized reel mech looks M series
However, your MPU board is on the side. Other M series machines have it located above the reels.  Scratch Head

would using the incorrect bearings such as tap washers which sit a little tight cause the stepper motor tilt and also i presume that a ram clear will have to be done to clear eror 61

Have you tried using the on board test?
Press the self test switch twice to get to group two. That's the output test.
Then press the cursor advance switch until the led read out on the door reads Motor (I think that's what is reads)
Now turn the jackpot reset key, no the side of the machine clockwise and the motor should run.
You can do this with the door open and the reel bundle removed. This way you will have a good view of the motor to see what it is doing when power is applied to it.
You motor may be dead. Or have a broken wire.

also just now that i think about it, beside the motor is a black relay with 4 posts,am i correct in saying that the ac volt reading between post 1 and 2 is abouut 115v ac and that post 3 is a signal and post 4 is a ground, if this is a relay should there be a 115vac reading between posts 1 and 2 the whole time or only when it is signaled to do so
is there likely to be a fault in the relay
hope this makes sense
