Hello everyone,

I know this has been covered, but for some reason I’m now finding it on my machine or I’m just an idiot.

I would like to know how to add credits on my IGT Video Poker machine. Please give me the step-by-step.

Placard states:
Built: 05/89
Model: PE+
Up right (free standing) model.

Thanks in advance.

I would like to know how to add credits on my IGT Video Poker machine. Please give me the step-by-step.

Step 1: Insert coins or bills.

That's about it.   Tongue Out

There's no super-secret way to instantly load a thousand credits on to your machine.  They were designed for the casino floor and not designed to be cheated.

I assume you want to put 10 coins in and have five go to the game and the other five to credits.

If I'm right in my assumption, then as far as I know this isn't possible. The only way to get credits to add up is to win them and then they store to the machine until you play them or cash out. I think what you are after is something called 'montana credits', here in the UK this is how all machines work.

You may be able to add credits if you've got a bill validator, and you put a twenty in, I'd expect all bar the first five coins to go to credits. If they don't, I would go into the test menu using the white button inside the machine and start looking at the settings in the Credits or Bill Validtor section if one exists.

The only time I've seen adding extra credits work otherwise is if you put 6 coins in quickly enough, the sixth will be registered as a credit after the first five have triggered the game, but I don't think this is what you are after.

I can expand on what Paul wrote.

With a bill validator, you can have the machine put bills to credit.  ie. insert a $5 bill into a $0.25 machne and it'll post 20 credits (all of the bill's value goes to credits, which can be cashed out or played).  (There is a "non-credit" setting which would basically turn the thing into a giant quarter change machine if you put a bill in.)

I'm not aware of Montana-style credits for the PE+ in regards to coins.  Once you put the max bet worth of coins (typically five on a poker game, but changable in the menu for some games), all additional coins are rejected to the tray or the coin return.  If you do sneak an extra coin in, the game will not issue a credit for it, but rather the hopper will activate and spit one coin out back to the player.  (If I sneak a 6th coin in on my video poker game, five cards will be dealt and then the hopper will turn on to dispense one coin before you can play the hand.)

My apologies, you are correct on that, it does pay back out of the hopper. I think if you have credits on the machine and you are inerting more coins it will add to the credits though?

mine doesn't - you can put in the max then additional coins fall to the coin tray or get re-gurgetated from the hopper.

It's the same with the S+, only the S+ spits out the extra coin after the spin is completed instead of prior to playing the hand as on the PE+. Having credits on the machine makes no difference.

Same with my PE+ anytime more than 5 (max) coins are inserted if they do register the hopper turns on and spits them back out after the cards are dealt

I would expect the Game King to continue to register coins, because most games are multi-lined/multi-coined and usually don't auto-spin after inserting the number of credits required for max bet. The bet decks allow the player to change their bet up or down before deciding to hit the spin button. The new levels of bet flexibility on the later model video slots almost requires them to set extra coins to go to the credit meter (Montana style).

I'd agree with that -- if you sneak a coin into the Game King right as you start a game (but before the divertor has a chance to engage), the coin will get credited to the meter once the game has completed.

To everyone that posted,

Thanks to all for posting their thoughts. I didn't mean for this to get this detailed. The only funny thing is I had my machine serviced and when I picked it up, it had 300 credits on it, and I wanted to find out how to add credits. After reading everyones post, it seems that there's no way to add them.

Thanks again.

I've got my comparitor rigged so that all of the coins bypass the hopper and collect in the bottom, that way I don't have to open the machine up to collect the quarters.
You just have to learn to speed load, and keep racking up your winnings until you get the credits you want in the machine. Set max coins to 20!

I added one of those side-mount bill validators to my PE+.  No problem adding credits now.  Smiley
