I have installed the XU-2 (893F) 5 coin chip into the proper socket. I took out the Xu-3 (8BBD)game chip and installed the Wms 25c Ram Clear. Here is what shows on the LED's:

CREDIT  WIN METER  BET
Jpr         Set 1           6
0000      0000            6
Jpr        Set 2            6
0000     0000             6
40 0      0 25             6
Stnd                  6
Here I'm supposed to verify that the proper denomination appears on the LED displays. Is that the 40 0  0 25  6  line????  Does the 0 25 mean 25cents??

I then remove the RAM Clear Chip and reinstall the Game Chip.  I put the CPU Board back into its slot.
I turn the power on and I get the message "clr" on the Credit Display.  I also got a Little chime sound.
Instructions says to LOCK card cage.  As you can see by the picture I can't do this.
I then push the little "Hard Wired" RED push button and the "REELS" turn..Is this called "reboots"?
I'm supposed to get another "CLR" message if the machine is cleared properly.  I DON"T GET THIS "CLR" message on the Credit Display.  I get "DOOR OPEN" and I close front door and the machine is ready to play 3 coins.

I've tried turning the "Jackpot Key" several times to see what shows on the LED's.
Here's what I get on the LED's:
CREDIT  WIN METER     BET
NONE        ON               0
SND1        030               0
SND2   070      0
SND3   115      0
LOOP   INF IN      0
SPEED   MED      0
CRED   OFF      0
10 0         1
9         2
1
8.8.8.8.8.
0         3
JUR   STAND
07088   14000      3
SRE1   5.04
SSYS   5.14
5 DAT   5.00
         5
SECUR   0

ALSO, one time when I tried to clear the RAM I got the following DOOR ACCESS TILTS messages:
Cleared by opening /  closing appropriate door
'door'      'POFF'    Main Door Open/Power Off
'StAc'     'POFF'    Stacker Removed/Power Off
'logic'     'POFF'    Logic Door Open/Power Off
'bill'       'POFF'    Bill Door Open/Power Off
'drop'    'POFF'    Drop Door Open/Power Off
'StAc'    'oPEn'    Bill Val. Stacker Removed
'logic'     'oPEn'    Logic Door Open
'bill'       'oPEn'    Bill Val. Door Open
'droP'     'oPEn'    Drop Door Open

AS you can see from the pictures my Card Cage Door has been fixed so it doesn't close or lock.  Also the DIAGNOSTIC button has been rewired.   Hopefully it's done right.

SORRY for the LONG post, but thought I needed to show and explain what is happening with my machine. The machine did play 5 coins when I first bought it, then I got either a ROM 1 or 2 error and I took it to casino supply in Dallas and they made me a NEW XU-2 chip and didn't give me back the 'original' one.  I've never gotten the 5 coins to play since then.  The casino also gave me a different CPU board from a machine that was a 5 coin.  So it's not the CPU board that was in it when I bought it and it played the 5 coins.  Would this make a difference?

Also there's no bill stacker.  It's all empty.  I  think this machine came from Canada.

If you could 'please' take the time to read this long messsage and see if you can help me, I sure would appreciate it.

This line indicates that the machine is still seeing the 3 coin game (88% payback). It appears that the clear procedure worked correctly from what you say in your post. Scratch Head Are you sure that the new chip is a 5-coin?

You might try powering up the machine with the new XU2 installed and without the set chip. You should then see a "Game Change" error and possibly a "need clr" message. Then turn the machine off and repeat the clear procedure. I'm not sure if doing this is necessary; it's just a suggestion.

I have ordered from some sponsers here and they tell me that they are 5 coin chips.  I will do what you recommend.  If this doesn't work I'll install again all the XU-2 chips I ordered and see what the machine shows.
Could the Diagnostic switch be wired wrong causing me to get 3 coins instead of 5?   I see the button has 3 prongs on it and one that's empty and there are 2 empty red plugs above. Could one of them go on the empty prong?   This Diagnostic button was rewired after I had a new XU-2 chip made.  I was either getting a Rom 1 or 2 error is why I had a new XU-2 chip made.

If I leave the Game Chip XU-3 in its slot and take out the XU-2 chip and install another XU-2 chip which is supposed to be 5 coin do I have to do a Ram Clear first before installing the XU-2 chip?
I tried this and I got the 'Door" Poff, Bill"  Poff, etc.  Then it said "door open".  I closed door and reels turned and I'm back in business with the 3 coin.  I have about (3) XU-2 chips which are supposed to be 5 coins.  I just wanted to try them again.  So that's why I'm asking if I have to do a "Ram Clear  before installing the new XU-2 chips.

I have seen where when you do a game change it takes a while for the machine to go thru all the set up.
you will get the normal 'Door" Poff, Bill"  Poff, etc. but after a few minutes the machine should come up.
Have you given up on it before the machine finishes its setup?

I have let finish and it finally says "door open".  I then close the door and the reels spin and then I can play.  But I still get only the max play of 3 coins instead of 5 like the chip is supposed to be.  I thought I would try my other 2 chips again that are supposed to be 5 coins.  I wasn't sure if I had to clear RAM eiach time before I put the "next" XU_2 chip in.

Maybe if you post the check sum of those chips someone could verify that they are indeed 5 coin.

Sounds to me like they are 3 coin.

That's the problem they only say XU2 5C BBPB on them.  I have ordered a pair from one of your sponsers that I trust.
That's what I shud have done in the first place.  As the ole saying goes "Live And Learn".
