AC is Anchor Coin. They were a producer of slot games for IGT hardware. They were swallowed up by IGT.

As far as I know AC Coin is still around

You may be thinking of Anchor gaming, I think they are part of IGT

AC Coin is not Anchor, it is AC Coin and Slot Service, the NJ (and Carribean) IGT Distributor and the Manufacturer in NV that makes Bonus Style Games like Barcrest, but with their own tops, most known is the Bingo Ball Type games, all AC Coin Games are IGT machine Based,  Empire was one of the First ones, good luck getting software, AC Coin had a huge building just next to IGT in Vegas before they built the new "compound", Just some trivia, AC Coin is the only US IGT Distributor, I have often wondered if IGT figured NJ would be a bust or there was something funny in the laws, btw I have been told they also own the land on the boardwalk where a few of the casinos are and the lease is very nice paycheck for the owner

Back to the original post...    RE:   Merlin slot...  is it perhaps the one that was Ebay ?   San Antonio ?    If so,  that is a slot machine manufactured by  Franco.  (Spain).    Seldom seen...but I've had a few Franco slots  4 / 5 yrs ago.

Yes, AC got it's start in the early 80's, Anchor Gaming in the late eighties. Anchor was purchased by IGT in 2001 after founder Stanley Fulton retired. AC is a partner.

To have a working Merlin slot would be a big accomplishment!  You would be the only one I know of who would have one.
It depends on what you are looking for.
Do you want a stiff challange of finding parts, manuals, etc to get your machine working? This may take months, years, maybe never!
Is this for resale or for your own collection? For resale, I say forget it!

appreciate all the relevant comments - will be picking up this and the rest next week - will provide pics and info when I get it back here.  Not a machine I was trying for - just in the mix - have to take the bad (hope not) with the good.

The top bonus is very similar to a Japanese Pachinko machine. Does anyone know if it is an LED representation of a ball or if it uses a real ball(s)? It appears to use a ball.

well I am back from San Antoinio and GREATLY DISAPPOINTED.   The Merlin has the tube and top with the genie - have not tried it but the top unit is a mess - as is the Empire King (no APE) but has the tube.  Will try to contact AC COIN to see what support they can provide.  Bought a load of Bally Pro - all missing coin entry/hoppers/bv/ da da da da..... boards are all stripped - no game proms - missing ICs - batteriess ---ta da ta da .... there isn't a complete game in the bunch.  One of the IGT S+  has some kind of autofill hopper - I haven't had a chance to see what this thing is yet.  Well I wanted some projects to keep me busy - well - guess I will be busy for awhile.

One of the IGT S+  has some kind of autofill hopper - I haven't had a chance to see what this thing is yet.

If it's the "Glenview Attendant", there's documentation for it here.
