Hey guys,

So I picked up a CEI poker machine that I am currently in the process of cleaning.  Since this thing has an intake fan on the side for cooling, it emits some "old" cigarette/old machine smells that are driving me nuts.  The machine was made in 81, so it's seen a LOT.

Any tips on cleaners and or ways to clean your machines to get rid of the smells?  When I got it home, I hooked up my compressor and blew the machine out.  i even put in a new air filter in the top cabinet.  Cleaned as much as possible with 409.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

strip the machine down, pull it all apart and keep cleaning the crap outta it!
I use plain old alcohol wipes and windex and paper towels.
You will have a blast putting it all back together knowing you did the best you could!
That's where I have fun with them...LOL...playing them is fun too!    arrow

Just be careful when cleaning the inside of the glass, some of the older stuff may be sensitive to cleaners/solvents. You don't want to remove anything by mistake.

Give it a bath (shower more like it).  Get the parts wet, soap them with 409 , green cleaner, etc, scrub with a brush, rinse with warn water. Let air dry in a warm place a day or so.  Brown nicotine goo and dirt will rinse right off.  I have used this method on hundreds of boards and monitors without a problem.
