I have recently been learning how to rebuild various power supplies. I have found that usually just replacing all the caps on the board does the trick. However lately I have had a few that will not come all the way back to life after replacing all the caps. More specifically, the machine powers up (all lights, bv, printer etc.), but it is staying in netplex failure. If i switch the supply with a known good one it works as advertised. My question is what part of the supply board should i focus on to remedy the netplex issue. Thank you for any help.

Which power supply are you talking about specifically?Scratch Head 2 Scratch Head 3 Scratch Head
There are many different kinds for different platforms...
IGT made a bunch of different kinds of machines.

It is for an S2000. Probably an after market replacement. 3Y CP-9826.  I actually fixed it, or it works in a different game than orighinally tested on.
First I tore it back down checked all solder joints touched up a couple on the output just cause they looked a little funky (most likely ok). Then I removed IC4 metered it (was ok too) reinstalled IC4 and assembled power supply. I tested in a different S2000 (3 reel instead of 5) and works fine still in game working.

Was it because of the extra 2 reels maybee?

Hello!

I assume you are talking about the power supply behind the reels - this has been talked about before here - check out this post for some more info...

The great thing about this site is that it's like a living encyclopedia -  99% of all common slot problems have been documented and have remedies.    And then there is the Devils and Diamonds slot.  lol

That kit is not long for this world.
