No. It can't be used with a CON1.

What you have is a power supply and a meter (fancy name for the display). The meter is designed to be connected to a ChamII or ChamII+

The path of least resistance (the cheapest also) would be to purchase a ChamII+ This will give you a standalone progressive with one machine. You are looking at less than $100 as you only need the board with no power supply or meter.This however will NOT give you a linked progressive.

When you want to go to the linked world you would then purchase a CON2i and change the settings on the ChamII+ to be in linked mode for use with the CON2.

The CON2 can be used to control several displays and if you want to go big you can get a supreme and a larger overhead display This will let you do graphics and such as well.
This the most professional way to go.
==============================================================================================================

I will throw out one more bone - that I am not endorsing and have not personally tried - but I have heard of people paralleling the wiring harness of a ChamII+ to a second machine.
I am sure others who have tried this might jump in here.

From my understanding of this the negative of this configuration is that if you had two coins drop in at the exact same time its quite possible that one would be ignored as the coin-in sensing is simply a brief short of the COIN-in and Grnd wires. It is also conciveable that if you had several machines hooked up this way that the succesion of several machines could trigger the machine into thinking that a jackpot has been hit as the way the S+ triggers a jackpot is to simply short the wires for longer period of time (ie 3 seconds).

With a COn1 or CON2 the progressive display would say WINNER MACHINE #2 or whatever machine hit the jackpot, the amount would reset to the base value and the other machines would continue play adding to the new jackpot - in this configuration you would not be able to identify which machine hit, and the progressive would not continue. This is probably against all casno rules but in a home environment I doubt it will be a reglatory concern....

The CON1 on the other hand is inexpensive in comparison to the CON2. The LED5 and displays are about the same price as the ChamII (non plus). The LED4 + over head display is generally a lot less money than a supreme. The only negative I can pass on is that the Con1 is not capable of driving graphics like the Con2 is.

I would first idenfity how much each set of parts cost.....and make your decision from that standpoint. Its been a while since I priced out any of the hardware.
