Hello again, I was just curious about how to set the different music tunes on the PE+ .
I think there are 4 different songs that can play. I scroll through with the self test button, Turn the reset key
to pick the song, Then keep pushing the button until I am back to the beginning.
I have yet to hear any songs play when I win, Just tones. Am I missing something?
Does it only play music on certain jackpots?
Thanks for your help!!  Jim...........

Music only plays on PE during a handpay lock up, then it'll play through all the different songs continuously

When you change to "music" and hear one of the songs playing, you are not picking that song.  (A handy tip, though, I've found that 'test' to be useful when trying to set the volume to the level I want as you can easily get it to make noise and have your hands free to adjust the volume.)

There is one other thing the setting does, though -- it controlls the sound of the credit roll-up when you win.

My preference is for the "music" setting.  On "tones" you just get the same high-pitched "ding" for each credit won.  On "music" you get the ascending "do-do-do-do-do-do-do" (hard to explain by text) sounds.

I guess I've never heard a jackpot lockup on the tones setting -- next time I'm down to zero credits I'll have to play with that.

Thanks for the info, And the tips!!
And as far as your do-do-do-do-do  explanation, That makes perfect sense to me  Tongue Out
It is different than the ding sounds.
Thanks again!   Jim

No problem.  I remembered while I was sleeping (yes, I dream about slot machines  Duh!) that it also affects the sound when coins are paid out of the machine in the same fashion -- the single-tone ding or the ascending do-do-do-do-do as coins get spit out into the tray.

The really sad thing is that the ""do-do-do-do-do-do-do" explanation makes perfect sense to me as well, and I don't even own a PE+ machine!  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

By the way Stat, did you ever get your decoder ring from SMAA?   Mine works fine.

A hand pay lockup with tones instead of music produces no sound at all unless you have a bell installed which will still ring. Several were set this way at the casinos when they still had them on the floor

Good to know -- you just saved me some time trying that.  Yet another reason to like the "Music" setting over "Tones."

No prob bud. Yeah the music setting is MUCH better to me, even just the sound when the credits ring up is better with the escalating tones

Yeah, on a PE+ the bell only goes off on a handpay lockup. Unlike some slots where you can set it to ring on all wins

One thing I discovered is the bell overrides the music playing when it is hooked up (in music mode)
Music plays when bell is disconnected Tongue Out
