Hi

R Franco is indeed a spanish company. From what i gather Visex was an american distributer but they ran into some legal trouble.

Link to their website

http://www.rfranco.com/

Link to BV manuals for RFranco - No sure if its the one from your machine

http://www.clubdediagramas.com/archivo/maquinas-tragamonedas-slot-a1218/r-franco-m4307/

Does you cabinet look like any of these ?
http://www.rfranco.com.ar/gabinetes-r-franco.html
Sorry that all i could find - Maybe some of our South American members can help

here is a picture of the machine - I got it to display a "BILL VALID"  error - by check all the cherry switches - there is one for the mpu board door - 1 for the door itself and 2 loose ones by the BV - changing them to normally open - normally close - still get the BILL VAID error - looks if I can get by this I am in.  (there are no other switches in or around the BV - it is stripped out.
1st picture shows the error code
2nd picture is the entire machine before I got past the 1st error.

Franco had a deal a few years ago with Shufflemaster. I saw plenty of product on the line, but never saw anything come out the door, so I suspect it all fell through. I may be able to track down an old friend at Shufflemaster and get some info if this is a recent machine.

appreciate any info - must be something simple now that I just have the BV message - may be as simple as bit switch or a ram clear since there are no switches left to adjust.

Hello Barry

Ok i found some manuals but its all for the newer products as listed on the one link in my original post.
Does the serial tag have any kind of model number printed on it ?
I am guessing that theBV needs to be disabled but would have no idea if its simply a setting and if some kind of clear needs to be performed.

the Franco tag inside machine "RODILLOS S21-F" . there are 5 bit switches on the main board.   There is a small board mounted behind the bv - not sure what it does - will try disco the connectors one at a time to see if there is any change.. Next will be try bit switches - that one will take a while.

Hello Barry

Dont know if this is relevant to your cabinet. Its some BV info for their street machines. The only other manuals on their site is for the latest machines.

That must be it - there is a 4 bit switch (actually there are 5 different bit switches on the board - only 1 of which is a 4)  -  since I can't read spanish - really makes no difference the are only a few combos of off/on for that board - so I will give that a shot - THANK YOU!!!!!!

after I dropped down from my ceiling and stopped yelling*U*UWW  - I checked the fuses - then I looked at the board - NADA - looks like there is a jumper for 5v to SOMETHING ELSE - well guess that something else was not good. And I was getting so close -most lilely I need a set of CLEAR CHIPS - which are probably as rare as finding either a new board or a replacement - SO - I have a nice decorator.

Hi,

This machine is still operated in France in some casinos. I will ask for the clear chips you need.
I used to have Franco reel slots, they were strong and reliable machines. In case of jackpots, first MPU door had to be open, then the reset key had to be turned.

well I have run out of projects SO the Mystic Ball is back on my bench.   What I have now are alot of flickering 8s -  Insert Coin - Coin Accepted - Call Attendant - all the lights are on.  Without a ENGLISH manual - or tech help - guess this guy will go to the scrap heap - machine not worth anything if you can't fix it - now - or later.  Does anyone have any pull in Vegas?  Franco does have an office there but I would assume can't deal with non-gaming licensed companies.

Barry,

I talked to Joey about these machines, and he is not at all familiar with them, and the ones that he just got went straight to his son Joey III, (Ref above Quote) so if he gets them going, he may be the only chance at an expert! Or there may be parts available? Sorry that I could not help any more than that!
