Slot Losers of America / Tokie Owens

« on: September 30, 2009, 11:40:25 AM »

This kid in the video is about 10-15 years old and is obviously spoiled rotten. He has a RWB dollar machine and can't stop saying "Oh My God" and "Holy Crap" It is funny as he says this about 10 or 15 times. Entertaining though. Machine looks really clean like it rolled right off the assembly line. Enjoy

That's a pretty good run, and a good looking machine for an early S+ model.

Really clean machine.  ...and it's got the shadow box behind the top glass, too, to highlight how many coins were played.

Yes, wonder where he got it from. It also has an IGT plate on the front. I have never seen an IGT machine with that logo plate on it. There is another funnier video made my the same kid where he shows people how to win 50 dollars on a Pachislo. If someone wants me to post it, let me know, runs about 50 seconds.

The layout looks just like my Jackpot Jungle machine...buttons, display, and glass.  Mine is a 3 coin machine though and doesn't light up a specific column of the top glass with each coin.  The top glass is lit all the time on the entire display.  Kid's spoiled I'm sure.

He did, but I wonder how many times he had to put in 2-dollars before hitting the mixed sevens. He may be young, but he's already exhibiting the psychological mind games of addicted gamblers. stir the pot / get cooking Duh! rotflmao rotflmao rotflmao

I caught that the first time, but was hoping that he was speaking from his knowledge of his parents' gambling experiences rather than his own. Of course, if his parents spoil him as the videos suggest, they may have let him play in Vegas. It would be their loss if he hit anything since the casino wouldn't have to pay them.

But how he got onto the gaming floor in the first place is the question. Do casinos allow 10 year olds to follow their parents onto the gaming floor? I don't thing so. And if he did, and got to play a machine, he could just lie and say that his dad put the coins in for him...........I think he is nothing more than a spoiled, rotten, child. I never had such toys growing up. Lucky if we had a Monopoly set.

This video reminds me of my concern for my 8 year old daughter - I've owned slot machines now since before she was born - and she has played them since before she could even talk....am I warping her brain in some way that she will be addicted to slot's when she's older???

I've had slots since before my child was born.  He has always seen them and plays with them on occassion.  The last time I went to the bahamas, the casino and all the machines didn't seem to interest him at all.  He would just tell me, it's like the one's at home.  He was much happier being in the pool or at the beach than anything to do with the machines.  He also doesn't even pay attention to them when we go on cruises.  So I guess it's not indoctrination per se.  I think that with kids, it has a lot more to do with their curiosity than anything else, if they are denied their curiosity, the more effort they will put forth to try and find out about it.  Since in my case, he can see or play them whenever he wants, he just doesn't care that much when he sees them out in the "wild."  I've loved slots ever since I can remember, but my child doesn't seem to care one way or the other.

I don't think one has anything to do with the other. I think any addictive behavior is related to the genetic makup of a person and partly the enviroment  they are raised in. I personally do not have addictive behavior. I enjoy my machines at home, when I am at a real casino, I spend 100 dollars or less and if I win, I leave. I do know that I am technically inclined and intrested in other technical items too. A lot of people were very mean to this kid, they posted stuff like "You are going to be a straight up gambling addict when you grow up". I don't think he will. I believe in the phrase "Render unto Caesars what is Caesars, and unto God what is God's"

I know what you mean guys.  Within the last 60 days I have bought a poker machine and a slot machine.  I have a ten year old and a 7 year old...both boys.  I'm smack dab in the middle of a moral dilema too, but I feel it's all about education and explaining "the real world."  Although I haven't quite been able to let them know that the machines are illegal in our great state.

Kids can cross the gaming floor with their parents. In lots of casinos that is the only way to the room.
What you can't do is sit down at a table or start playing a slot and have the children standing by loitering.

When I used to go to Vegas with my parents I would sneak a quarter into a machine and pull the handle.
It was cool when I put one in and two came out. My dad was furious with me. I was very curious about everything.

I have 3 slots and video poker in the house and the kids can play them whenever they want.
When we hit Vegas at Newyears they (15 and 13) had no interest in them at all.

I firmly believe that introducing kids to something in a controlled fashion makes it no big deal.

French kids are offered wine with most meals as a result you have less alcohol abuse than most countries.
In contrast a Britain closes their pubs at midnight and people binge drink from 11:00pm to close.
Proabition never worked.

Some people just have the genetic makeup to be an alcoholic and/or other addictive personalities there is little one can do.....

Perhaps install a slot at home....? for self medication  rotflmao

See my other earlier post about that. Personally, I like the theory behind the mechanics, and playing them is fun too! I think the laws will be relaxed soon and most people will have them, kinda like a pinball machine. It will take time but laws will change.
