Let me start with this topic by saying I think I screwed this one up about 6-months ago.  This was and is one of my favorites as I played it back in the day in casinos a LOT.  When I received the game it was non-working and I knew this fact.  Examined/visually inspected etc. Had all the orginal game chips to the best of my knowlege (the labels looked authenic). power game up -nothing-no display, reels did tighten up.  put another cpu in from other and display etc. came up wanting/telling game mis-match etc. so I knew it was in cpu or chips.  Took the chips from reel em board and put in known good cpu-same result-nothing.  So now I figured chips.  Had some "files" 1 for 3-reel and one for viedo,  Used the 3-reel of course, programmed-nothing.  I think I was dealing with corrupt files.  So the conclusion to my story is I would like some orginal chips loaded onto a known working cpu and a known good working clear chip.  I did not have these problems with the other 8 I have--Just this one,and yes I changed all pwr supplies,i/o board, display to arrive at this conclusion.  The thing has a dbv-146-sg in it- :103-canadian- Scratch Head.  Again it has been about at least 5-months since I fooled with this but my memory is pretty good. Thanks B.  Any help or parts will be of great help on this one.  Here is a picture of it.  I plan to put it in round top version.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking...
It sounds like you would like to buy a good Wms
model 40x CPU board with Reel Em in chips installed,
and clear chip for good measure. This game comes
2 and 3 coin by the way.

Your perception is correct.  3-coin will be fine -see pick of game.  All my cpus are good just the software hase been corrupted -The clear chip is good as well I have the "files" for .25.,.50-universal-etc. but suspect they are corrupt.  A locked and loaded  tested board will be ok with me at this point.   --As a side note What about the viedo- B.  Also what is the 146 dbv-I heard it was equvillant to the 200-?.

I believe a 146 dbv head has the ability to read barcodes.
so really you don't want that in a Wms 40x. A 145 or
200 would be ideal. The 145 is good too, just it doesn't
take new $5 or new $10. But it takes all others and i find
it to be fine in a Wms 400. They are cheap too, sometimes
just $5.

Well.  I have another question here about this game as I was going to try and bring the 'ol girl on-line tonight.  Clay helped me some but one site/file could not be axcessed I tried everthing-anyway.  Pretty sure about this for the Xu-2 and xu-3 chips should be m27c1001's would this be the same for the clear chip (m27c1001)-? xu17,xu30 and xu31-m27c4001's.    I have a "universal" clear also will it work on these or do I just need to use the specific clear chips -25 cent,50,dollar-etc. This will be set up as .25 cent.  I seen some conflicting data in old posts about the xu-2 and xu-3 chips used.  I have " st m27c1001" for these two again the clear chip used in xu-3 socket is my biggest question-(same chip number-?).  Thanks Barry.  I have not had to clear or went to change any of these things yet-!!!.  I have about 9-10 of  these kind-(I lose track- Duh!).  All of mine have worked pretty good-Hence no big problems.  The reel em in never worked and a few others but I was able to "hack" my way on the others-Not this one-- Duh! frying pan

Barry, The one I use is a 25 cent clear on a 27C1001. Sorry but its got a generic label and no numbers. I have used this on dots as well as my High Speed.

Thanks Dan,  That is the one that I thought was correct as well but wanted to confirm it.  Just got of phone with jim about other jargon and he was kind enough to confirm it as well.  Just wanted to do this correctly as I am a igt nut here and not up to speed fully on these as of yet.  Thanks Barry.

I have a "universal" clear also will it work on these or do I just need to use the specific clear chips -25 cent,50,dollar-etc.

I'm not aware of a "universal" clear chip for the WMS 40x games.  As far as I know, you do need a denomination-specific clear chip when clearing the RAM (game change or otherwise) so that the bill validator will give the correct number of credits for each bill inserted.
