Sorry for the stupid question. How do I adjust (make louder) the volume on my video poker machine. Specifically the dings and bleeps during gameplay. Couldn't find a switch anywhere. And I didn't see anything in the menus.

Resistance is futile. You will be emulated.

Depending on your particular machine, there is a dial mounted on the edge of the PCB that sticks out slightly from the case.

See picture here (Note the blue dial at the very bottom of board near the battery):

Thanks for your reply. I'll check it when I get home. That does however look like the board I have. Are they usually located somewhere on the board?

It's usually located exactly in that spot on the board.  Tongue Out

It's designed in such a way that you can adjust the volume without having to remove the board and without having to turn the machine off.

My tip for doing it is to open the door, press the white "self test" button a few times until you get to the menu screen for "SET SOUND OPTION" for Music or Tones.  Turn the jackpot reset key once or twice to get it to "music" and the machine will play a sample tune.  Adjust the volume while it's playing the sample tune to the volume level you want.  Turn the jackpot reset key as needed to get the machine to keep playing music until you get it just right.  You'll likely want to leave it on the "music" setting when you're done.

Edited to add: It's not a stupid question at all.  When I got my first slot it was one of the first things I had to ask because it was LOUD.  Also, the previous owner of my PE+ machine apparently didn't know about the volume knob, either, as he had put a large piece of tape over the speaker grill to make it quieter!

Thank you all for the good advice. Came home and followed your directions and got just right. Tape over the speaker...that's a good one. Glad I found this forum.

We're glad to have you here -- this site is a great resource for information on repairing or programming your machine.  Make sure to bookmark it so you can find it later if you have any questions about or trouble with your machine.

Also, for what it's worth, the site depends on voluntary donations to help pay for the bandwidth to keep the site available.  If you're so inclined, there's a PayPal donate button at the bottom of every page -- even just a couple of bucks helps, and it'll get you the "contributing member" badge by your username.  At the same time, too, I know finances are tight all around and if you can't afford to donate at this time that's 100% fine, too -- the members here will always be happy to help you in the future no matter what.
