« on: November 07, 2009, 12:12:04 AM »

I have an IDOJ bottle topper I want to install, but it is missing the wire harness that connects the topper circuit board to the Netplex board. So, I am going to make the harness, but I need to know which are the 13v/25v inputs on the IDOJ circuit board (see pic).

Does anyone have a schematic or can you send me a picture of another harness that I can use as a guide?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob,  I have one of these that was Brand New in the box that I mounted on my IDOJ 3-reel about a year ago here.  It May be a while before I could take it apart to pin-out for you.  She swings in the bottle and "jiggles" when you hit something.  Thanks Barry.  As a constellation I was offered 500.00 dollars for this when it was in the box and refused-these are rare to find intact and in good shape as they are "fragile".

Here is a picture of my application/mod.  I did not alter or mar the topper at all but utilized "adaptors' etc. here for the round top 3-reel version.  You probably are going to use this on it's intended game-?.  I used a elvis type slot topper bottom gold base to match my cabinet-it looks factory built to me-?.  The topper also should have a long type extension candle mounted in it-It is a heavy piece.  Thanks Barry-Good to see someone has one of these as they really make the game without a doubt.

Yes, I plan to use it on my IDOJ game.

Question, if the topper is plugged into the Netplex board for power, how does it know when it has a big hit to swing Jeannie ans run the light show?

I thought the Netplex board was a constant supply of power...

No,  Net plex is inter-twined with the game-not just power-Why do you think your printer, aux vfd etc.,etc. runs off net-plex.  Thanks Barry.

I guess this will be my first real Netplex device then. All I have ever plugged into the Netplex to date was the standard oval toppers...

Rob,  Thanks for the pic's.  You can show some others if you want-Shoot I might even do the same- Scratch Head.  Since you come up with some cool games I need to "rub" this in-- Cry Laughing.  This is what the correct center pay-line glass looks like for IDOJ I know you asked me but I do not have any spares.  This game and some of the other themed s-2000's are becoming tougher to come across-Wonder Why- Scratch Head stir the pot / get cooking.  B.

There are actually 2 different Bottle Control Boards, the one you have Rob shows on mine as a S/T I believe it would be Slant Top, the other pic is actually a Factory Equipped R/T I Plus game with the topper attached and working, notice the different control boards and power in location, the power is simple 960 base wiring, Red, Orange and Black/striped and just goes to the 4 pin power connector on the Netplex Dist Board, so looking at a oval topper you could hook it up in a Flash, pics attached, and Barry, please send me the name of the cat who wants to pay 5 bills for the topper, I will split it with you yummy

First pic is Upright I+ Factory Installed Bottle (Larger hole in top Box)

And also the other wires leading up are for the Candle as it has an extended pipe mount setup

Excellent,  Informative post once again Jim.  I did not know when I was going to be able to take mine apart for the info.  That cat bought one.  This was well over a year ago-He paid 350.00 and change for it USED.  He wanted mine because it was new in the box.  Any way I will acknowledge your work in this research for bellman (Rob) and forward you a k+.  I think K+'s ought to be re-deemable some where for grocerys, food stamps, booze, money or something-- Tongue Out.  Thanks Barry.

So, I got the bottle topper hooked up and everything works... Or does it???

As soon as I turn the power on, the Jeannie starts rocking from side to side and it stays that way. Is this correct? Barry mentioned that if you hit something it would rock, but mine is rocking all the time. I'm ok if this is the case, but I'd like to know for sure.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

Upon further review, I see that "this" version of the Jeannie topper is supposed to rock all of the time since it only has one power plug.

I took Ruden's suggestion and added color to the lights. I don't have LED's, but I have colored bulb caps (condoms). I added Blue and red. I tried to get a picture of it, but it doesn't look half as good as it does in person.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

Rob

The reel versions never had the bottle that I remember, I only have seen the steady rocking, I have played the Video version and never seen it change, but with 2 voltages is possible
