Greetings everyone,

I'm not a tech by any means and need some help with my VLC machine model 8825.  The machine was working fine the last time I had it on, did some remodeling which took a few months and then moved it to its new location in my basement - when I turned it on it sounds like it is starting up and then it gives a system initialization failure-
Critical Data Fault
Module: 0004 0001     Line: 1669
Error: 0                     Data: 0010.fffc

Does anyone know what needs to be done to correct this issue?

Thanks

Greetings, and welcome to  nlg.

There's some, but not a ton of VLC information around.  Based on what you've posted, I'm guessing that the battery on your board may have died during the months that the machine was not in use.  Generally when that happens you need to replace the battery (not a big deal), and then use a zero (clear) chip to reset the game -- that's a big deal as the clear chips are close to impossible to find.

Hopefully someone else will come along to this thread with more 8825 info.  The VLC I had was an 8725 -- I just sold it off as I moved on to an IGT Game King.

Greetings Knagl,

Thanks for the reply........Wow, thats horrible, id hate to think that I have this beautiful machine that is now no more than a door stop.  Im surprised no one has been able to copy these zero chips.  Any ideas at all on who might be able to repair the machine since I cant locate a zero chip?

Thanks

There was a guy in Texas here on the NLG site who offered the service of resetting the boards -- you'd remove the board from your machine and send it to him -- he could reset the board and then send it back.  Where are you located?
