We have an IGT dble dble bonus slant that I now have the vol. at a reasonable level, I have reset the jackpot for an assistant.  Now I need to up our level of credits from 1400 to whatever is a good number.  Be patient.  I am new at this an need red neck terms to get it right the first (or second) time.

Just go through your menus now that the credits are at zero (using the self test switch inside). You should see options for credit limit and hopper size. They're probably both set at 1400. I usually just change both to what amount I want. That number all depends on what you want it to lock up at and no longer pay coins. Mine are currently at 400 which means after 400 credits are collected it will pay out any excess winnings and if any single hit is over 400 coins it will lockup and go into a handpay (where you will have to reset it via the jackpot reset key). There's no way to tinker with the likeliness of hitting a jackpot, the RNG (random number generator) is it's own beast. You have an equal chance of hitting that jackpot every time the cards are dealt. Hope this info helps!

This site can be a strange place: A funny thing just happened. A zip file containing two manuals that would help you understand your machine seems to have mysteriously appeared in the Submit a New File Section. I have no idea how it could have possible found its way there?

It's called "PE_Plus_Field_Service_and_Program_Reference_Guides.zip". Click on the blue button under the banner ads labeled "Submit a new File", look for the file name, right click on the link, and select "Save Target As" to save it to your computer.

I would strongly suggest setting your hopper limit no higher than 3999.  If your hubby hits a 4000-coin Royal Flush, you don't want to have to sit there and wait for the game to pay out 4000 coins (and keep recycling them back into your hopper, as I don't imagine you keep $1000 in quarters in there).

If, after you've looked through the manuals that StatFreak mentioned you still need a step-by-step on how to do it, just let us know and we can guide you through it.


Oh, and no, unfortunately there's no way to "rig" the game to pay out a Royal.  These were designed for the casino and the last thing they wanted was for people to find a way to make the machine payout when it wasn't supposed to!

I love it when the good fairies know exactly what I need and provide it.  It was very lucky you just happened to look in that section and "find" that uploaded file for me.   

I decided to sit down with hubby and discuss the pros and cons of different numbers.  I hadn't thought about the payout if you hit big problem, just being able to keep credits on the machine since he hates to feed the coins.  I gave him $200 in quarters so he wouldn't need to empty the hopper so often.

Would it be good to put the hopper at 200 and the credits at 3999 or should they stay the same.  I was thinking that way we get the best of both worlds, no more than $50 in quarters staying in the hopper but he can build up his credits so he doesn't have to feed.

I notice in the manual Player Edge Plus Slant Top Series Field Service Manual it discusses a drop box.  My question is this.  Can I just put something there for the hopper to drop into if I keep the coin level small for the hopper?  I tried to look up from the bottom and down from the top, but just do not see how this would work.

There is a metal screw that extends into the hopper. It has 1 wire coming off of it.
When coins short with the screw it would signal the drop door to redirect additional coins to the "drop".
You will note there are several holes in the hopper so you can move this bar lower or higher to manage what the hopper contains.

The drop usually was a bucket of some form. inside a locked slot stand.

You need to enable the drop door in the setup menu for this to work.

If I'm not mistaken, the drop door option in the menu just specifies whether or not the game looks for a drop door sensor (for a "door open" situation) -- it shouldn't have a bearing on coins being diverted if the hopper probe indicates the hopper is full.

halestrm: From what I've seen in the guide, it looks like you may already have a drop door installed on your machine -- you'd just need to slide a drop bucket into it on the right side of the divider.  The door is located under the hopper.

I've never used it, either.  Here's a line about it from a PSR in the self-test options:

"Monitors the opening of the drop (cash) door."


halestrom: Does your machine look like this -- that is, is there a compartment under where the hopper sits?  If so, that's the drop area (and the door that gains access to it is the drop door).




The drop box would go in where the green circle is.  It'd likely look something like one of these:

Just as a follow-up, on the game that's currently in my machine (at least on the machine that doesn't have a bill validator), there isn't a "credit limit" setting -- just a Hopper Size setting which acts also as the credit limit.  My memory is a little fuzzy, but that may change if you have a bill validator installed.

For the original poster, as I mentioned before, I'd set that no higher than 3999.  Press the self-test button a few times to get to the screen(s) and follow the directions on the screen, using the "deal" button and/or the jackpot reset keyswitch to make your changes.

Thanks all.  I have feed all the info to hubby from you all and have told him to decide where he wants the numbers.  I told him the 1400 seems ok to me incase we have to "hand" feed out.

He is still thinking about which way to go.
