What are the dip switchs on the simms for the I+ used for?

they're used for programming, if you switch some of them on your game won't work anymore

Thanks..was wondering what they were used for.
From what I have seen they are used for "Addressing". Since most of them are "Generic" and can be used in any of the 3 slots, you need to tell the machine which card is which. They are on a parallel bus, the switch settings give them an indentity, I.E. device 0,1,2,3 etc...
In  my I-Games I have noticed the SIMMS labeled "2 of 4,3 of 4' 4of4" and the switch settings increment ONE in Binary for each card....
