Hi, I just acquired a s2000 with a Five Star 3 coin kit in it. The father in-law likes that game and it is for him from his wife for X-mas. I put in a mmii soundboard with dsv00042. The s2000 didn't come backlite, but had backlite reel strips, so I figured I would put in the backlite kit. I put in both harnesses, the backlite reels, backlite controller and no lights, not even dimm ones. The game plays fine, but no backlites and the sound is fine. The chips information are:
SB1000271
GME SG000363
VS011nx5
Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Mike, has this B/L set worked before in another machine? If so, I would pull off the I/O from a working S2000 and check that.

Everything but the backlite controller came from another working s2000. The backlite controller was supposed to be a working one. Will putthe controller in another machine and see if it works. Changed i/o also. I ran the i/o reel light test and no lights. ????

Also check the pins on your molex plugs. When I did the Munsters backlit conversion, the pin supplying poswer to the contoller had backed out just a little, so no power and not real obvious.

Will do that. I'll check all the molex connections. Thanks Dan

Checked all connections and that wasn't it. Took the controller to another s2000 that b/l works. No backlite. Thus controller is BAD.
Thanks for the help from people online and offline, Thank You

Put in another backlite controller board today and boom, it works. Is there a way to find out what is wrong with the backlite controller board? I have 2 that do not work and they are too light for a paper weight and wanted to know if they are repairable? Thanks
