WOW, really cool to see someone that has the exact same machine as me  applause  K+ to you just for that  yes

Anyway, It could be a multitude of things BUT if you haven't recently moved or changed anything in the machine I was getting the same problem upon first turning on the slot and it turned out to be the darn DOOR OPTICS were loose and not aligning properly unless I slammed the latch down.  Have never had that problem since.

Is this only when you first turn it on?...  Make sure that fan in the top section is working as that display can get pretty warm also!

Great, glad you found it !  applause  Clap

I have the same machine and was wondering if you ever hit with all 3 wild cherry pie's on the payline Scratch Head

The best hit I got on that game was all 3 not on the payline which is still good for 500 credits

Never hit the three wild cherries on the pay line. My wife has a Tabasco that is played every day and she has hit the three Tabscos on the payline one time. Now we know why the slots produce the most profit for the casino. We just got in six reel touch machines and one is a Tabasco. This is a one crazy machine especially the bonus game with the three chefs. Have a great day.

GAME EPROM CRC MISMATCH - 0XB000001  so i turn the key again still with the door open and then it tells me to press the reset key for 2-3 seconds. once I do that nothing else happens at all. closing the door just brings back call attendent message.
once again , this slot worked perfectly last time I had it on , and absolutely nothing has been done to it , nor has it been moved. thx for any help in advance. and once again merry xmas. wave

It should be telling you to push and hold the reset BUTTON not key for 2 - 3 seconds.  The reset button is located below the led status indicators on the MPU board.  Try that.  Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Sounds like a totally dead battery to me.
First off, check battery with a voltmeter for 3.0 volts (at least) Replace battery if low (I bet it is)
After battery is good, fire the machine up. When you get the error, open the door and turn the key.when prompted push and HOLD the little white buttom on the MPU for 2-3 seconds and release. Follow the instructs the machine gives you. You will have to repeat this 2 or 3 times before it comes back online....

The battery is on the CPU board and is the round battery. This is a 3 volt lithium battery and needs to have leads for soldering. We get ours off the internet or barrery plus nad them as well. Hope you get your machines working.

OK...lets discuss "Batteries"....
Yes, these are LITHIUM batteries. They are NOT recharged by the machine.Their sole purpose in the machine is to back up the RAM when the regular power is gone. The machine draws a few Ma of current from this battery WHEN THE MACHINE IS OFF.
Now these machines were NOT designed to be powered off for long periods of time, but rather on 24/7/365 days. The battery is a TEMPORARY support for rebooting/power failures/service/transit..you got the idea.
OK, that being said...lets look at battery ratings....
lets say the machine draws ONE Ma. to retain the memory. Lets say the battery is rated at 100Ma/hr. that means this battery can provide 100Ma for ONE hour. It also means that it can provide ONE Ma. for 100 hours. Roll the numbers anyway you like, 100Ma is 100ma....
if said machine draws the ONE ma. then a 500Ma battery will supply the needed ONE ma. for 500 Hours or 22 days of drain from the battery without any regular power.
In real life, CMOS RAM draws less than 1 MA, but you get the idea. The bigger the battery's MA/Hr rating, the longer it will support the machine's RAM.
OK..You are NOT restricted to using the original coin battery! a Sub "A" or 1/2"C" cell works fine! If you want to use a pair of "AA" batteries in a 2 battery holder (Radio Shack) and stick it to the frame this works JUST FINE!!! All of these last a lot longer than the original battery setup.
Can you use "other" type batteries?? YES you can...read on....
You CAN indeed use Alkaline cells, even a regular Carbon type battery(less backup time)
You CAN NOT use a NiCad/NiMh or LI type battery because they NEED to be recharged and the machine can NOT do this.
if you want to continue to use the "Coin" style battery, get a slip in holder for it.No more having to solder in a new battery. If you want to use a Sub "C" style, route the leads and tack the battery in place with either RTV or hot glue. If you go with the external 2 "AA" cell holder, solder the leads to the mainboard and use doublestick tape/pad to adhere it to the edge of the frame close to the original battery location.
Don't sweat the finding a 3.0 Volt Coin battery with solder tabs.....

so kirk ,i see why my battery went dead. its cause I have it powered off all the time when its not being played. so since they dont get recharged by the machine ,ill need to get used to replacing them alot ,or maybe if i can convert it for household batteries maybe i can get rechargable ones.
now i have 2 other machines that are not vision slots. they are s-plus machines. do they have the same story when off? Cause all 3 of my slots plus 1 video poker are always powered of when im not playng them. thx again

No.....
I repeat....
******** DO NOT USE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES **************

If you find you have to replace the Lithium batteries too often, go to a larger battery for more time.....
If you replace the "Coin" type battery and it hold for a long time, leave it as a coin battery....
BTW..."Rechargeable" batteries have a shorter shelf life due to self discharge.

I think fanman was talking about having a couple sets of rechargeables on hand and charging them externally to the machine when they went dead...

Kirk, what's the bigger battery on the S2k and Vision used for?

There are two on the S2000 to note and the larger one does recharge however it's used as a tell-tale for when the machine is off. Tell tale is so the machine can report back to the MPU when doors open and close when the power is off.     Ths is off the top of my head so if wrong sorry.

My machines are off more then on and I rarely get a low batt at home so don't get to crazy about having to replace too often etc.

I would guess the draw is very low overall.   Many games sit off while in casino storage or on the move to another location.   Very few come up with low batt even after being off for years from what I have seen.  More often it's low due to age and not being off for too long.

As Slotmaster said, the rechargeables are only for the watchdog circuit and can be completely removed for home use.  This will prevent the board damage from leakage as they age.

yep Smiley    the only thing you might notice (no big deal) is IF you have a ticket printer, the time/date on the ticket might be wrong.......

Thought I might tag in on the end of this post cause it kinda fits my problem to a point.  My vision machine was working and then upon boot up the LCD says in the top box said initializing please wait.  So I waited about 10 minutes and wen back to it and still the same.  So I turned it off and then back on.  Then it booted up and didn't have any display at all in the top box.  But the game play and racks up credits and has the sound. BUT no display what so ever. Been checking connections and have had no luck. Going to swap the LCD tomorrow and see if that's the problem.  But wanted to ask if anyone knows of a know problem.  Scratch Head

Interesting problem. Most of the sound is generated in the top box on a Vision. You need to find out if the top computer is running.
If you look next to the RAM sockets (close to the sidewall) you will see a 2 pin header labeled JU-1. Placing a jumper on them will allow you to see the top display boot up.
If you jumper this and you still see nothing AND the machine boots up, your display backlight has gone out (I have seen this before).
I highly suspect this is what happened in your machine. If you  have a spare Vision display, swap them and the flash card and see if the problem follows the display.
