uv1700 Log Full error fix?

I have a uv1700 board with a "error log full" problem. i've attached
a keyboard to the game and reset both the Load Setup and Load Bios
Defaults (upon pressing DEL at boot up.)  I've used a clear
chip to clear the memory. Yet I still get this error. Any ideas?

Go under the PCI settings. There is likely a log reset on that.
I ran into this with a HP DL500 server once.

I would also look under some of the other BIOS settings if you don't find it there.

When you get a chance,try switching the disk on chip and see if that helps

I did change the Disk On Chip, and it didn't change anything.
And in the PCI option, there is no changeable settings.
In fact, there's no changeable settings anywhere, besides
the date/time.

Under the BIOS have you tried to tell it not to halt on errors? Also on the RAM I found this in the manual ...

Memory parity check: enables or disables parity checking of memory. Most new memory is nonparity,
so this setting must be disabled. However, when using parity memory this should normally be
enabled.

Also I emailed you a PDF just on the DOC

you can't change any of the options in the bios
except for the time/date and reseting to defaults!

No Stat,but looks like I may try soon   Called a few friends looking for a AT keyboard...this is what they said  
I glanced through the manual looking for the jumper on the board to set the defaults. As soon as the Chi and Minn game is over I'll look some other places....final score 44

Not that it means anything...but have you corrected the time and date settings?
The game's in the future by nearly 24 years!

Yes...I thought the same thing  . I also tried to go past the last date in the log file,which is 2099 something,so I tried setting it to 2100,but the latest it would let me is 2079 . Tried switching DOC ,but same as Clay,no luck. I just put that one into my board and was seeing what it does. Reset the bios,installed passwords,loaded defaults,tried different switch settings and still the same. Still trying to find out what they mean by "A special Sigma only clear procedure is required..."

Checking the manual for the board it says to re-set the CMOS by flipping SW16... They never put a SW16 on the board  Nor a 15,17,18, 22,23,...........

Well,since Sigma was not nice enough to put them on the board,I'll do it myself   . Once I turn SW16 on it cleared the CMOS(I did not need the password to get back to the bios),but I still have the log error . A few of the SW's they just have the pad for,never actually put the switch in. Looking in the MB manual it says....

4.19 Mode Switch (SW24)
These switches are reserved for testing purposes and for setting the board into different modes. Their
default position is OFF. Further information on changing the mode of the board will be made clear if and
when is appropriate for the user.

My question is, where the hell did they put it   I've spent 10 mins scanning the board and see everthing up to SW23

EDIT; After playing with it some more. After I clear thr CMOS and let it boot up normaly,it will go through the checks. After a min it will go to the a screen that tells you the amount of RAM,hard drive info,etc,than just stay on that screen. After 10 mins I re-started it and back to the log full. I cleared the CMOS again and this time I went in to the bios and loaded all of the defaults,re-started and back to the log full.

I really need to find SW24 

Well,time to go cut up some trees..26 deg out, like the kids are really going to stay out on the four wheelers

Well,I'm back to playing with this board,again. And need some info  . I'm looking for the settings for the CPU...266,300,333,etc. I found all of the settings for the Cyrix 333,but no others. Also,looking for a I/O clear chip (Thinking this is what I need to clear the log).

Send a PM to dragster73. He has many diffrent chips for uv1700's. Not sure about I/O board but give him a try.

I had to dig through another computer to find these old files, so here they are.

First, I see where it was stated that they never installed the switches on the boards for these machines. That is true, but done intentionally and the manuals state to use a jumper. A paperclip works good for this.

Another thing I was told is the log full error can not be cleared.
This locks out after (I think 5) logged critical errors. This is where I was advised that if you have a board that has failed five times it's junk.
They diden't want it to be used again because it has major issues.

A jumper on one of those switches may un-lock and clear it, but I only have good boards and I'm not taking that chance.

Thanks for the replies. In the "Sigma conversions procedures" manual, it talks about jumping the pins. But,it also says the I/O clear chip has to be installed. Then you can do the BIOS.

PS It looks like Advantech made the boards. I tried to create a account to get all the info on the board,no luck

Just a update...
I found a clear chip that goes in the IO board, that suppose to erase the board, no luck. But , does open more settings under the Bios
I removed the batteries and discharged the board , no luck
I swapped out every chip on the board , no luck
 Tried a combination of all above , no luck
Still says log full

I had this problem a long time ago If I remember it had somthing to do with disk on chip
