Since I am a new owner of a slant top Multi Poker, I have a question or two:

Since its your money, do you:

1.  Play for the Royal Fulsh (no wilds)
2.  Play the odds to keep the credits going

Just curious, I play the odds when the credits get low, otherwise I play for the highest payout, well depends on how many shots I've had.

I play the odds, almost all the time. Though I have been known to break a pat hand sometimes, eg I will usually discard FH aces to go for the 4 Aces on a bonus machine. I will also hold a suited 10 with a face card, which is not the correct play, but I've pulled in a heck of a lot of royals holding 10-Q or 10-K. My worst sin was one time at the Gold Coast while I was waiting for someone, I started playing a quarter Deuces Wild and was dealt a wild royal with one deuce. I discarded the deuce and drew the natural for $1000 instead of $31.25! I wouldn't normally have done that, but I was just passing time, not "really" playing.

XKey Since you have no real money to lose, I like to be aggressive with the Royal Flushes.
Op-Bell Actually 10 J suited and 10 Q suited is a proper play.  According to www.wizardofodds.com

I know what the proper play (odds) is, I was just curious what everyone does at home.

I'd say that if you're practicing for the casino, use best play, since habits, once formed, are hard to break, good or bad.  Professor

Of course, it's more fun to always go for the Royals so that you can post them in the "Best Hits at Home" thread. Evil  arrow frying pan  Dancing Party

I can attest to the fact that, while fun, going for the royals is a good way to deplete your wallet in the casino.  Duh! Duh! frying pan

I play the odds, and play my hands the same way I'd play them in the casino.

OpBell: I agree with daddy2yea, at least on JoB or BP, 10-J, 10-Q, and 10-K suited are all proper holds if you have no other face cards.

Most of you probably already know, but IGT has a website up:
http://www.videopoker.com/  (I guess to get more people hooked on videopoker)
Its free to sign up, has paytables, strategies etc. My wife used it to compare her system to what was suggested.
Hers pays off better in the long run  Tongue Out
