What's the best way to install an S+ game into and S2000?
For example: I'd like to put a 3CM Double Bucks in maybe using an SP1271 perhaps?
What specific chip speeds are needed (ns)?
Which sockets?
Do I put both SS and SP chips in?
What options are available in the settings?
Do I need certain SET chips to enable settings?
Basically, what is involved?
Has anyone really made some type of a "set-up" sheet
as to how to perform this?

I think it was done and there is a table somewhere on this site...........I know it said that you had to use the faster chips, the 10mhz chips would not work

Just use the S+ reel chip, which needs to be 120ns or better and change the SB chip to SB 10000 (give or take a few 0  rotflmao)
The reel chip goes in U17. The reel chip is a 28 pin and the socket is a 32,just put it at the bottom and  use your 17 or 31 key.

You will need to use SB001000 and then your SS chip in the BT1 (U17). The SB001000 replaces the S+ Game Prom.

I guess you could do it but playing an S+ game on an S2000 is like using a 747 jet engine to toast a piece of bread bust gut laughing

Make sure you get the placement of the SS chip correct. It will be installed with the notch closest to the notch on the socket, so the extra holes in the socket are at the non-notched end.

Actually, the sound experience is much better on the S2000 if you have the correct sound SIMM in the MMLB2 board. Especially good are the titles that have special sound effects like Haywire Deluxe.

I had my HD kit in my S+, and after I tried it in the S2000/Vision, I'll never put it back in the S+ cabinet again. yes

The SS chip must be installed with both notches lined up but with the chip at the bottom of the socket (the notched end being the top) just like you would when placing in a chip programmer

The S+ Haywire themes are nicer in the Vision/S2000

Thank you very much guys...the responses are top-notch!  Hail
I had never done this before so I'm kinda of excited to try my HD in the S2000 machine.
I DO have the DD Haywire sound card for the MML piggyback board.
This ought to be a new experience for me.

Which part? I think pretty much everything that's been said here is true...

Without the MMLB2, it sounds just like an S+.

The reason I ask is that I thought that on the list of games there were some that were not playable on the S2000 platform, don't know the names offhand. Wish we could find that table.........

When I try my S+ chips in my S2000's I get all LEDS lit except the red blinking one. Does that mean chips aren't fast enough?

No - that's not right.  When the S+ chips are not fast enough, the machine will still start to bootup and you will see the normal messages on the VFD, but then you will get errors.  So if you are not seeing the VFD messages....something else is wrong...

Stout I couldnt find my copy of that image.
but I have it now.

I have also used 27c512 or 27sf512 without any offset.
The Vision or S2000 MPU's handle the logic levels at the chip differently
I have accidentally put SS chips in backwards and no damage to either MPU or chip

The SST27SF512's I have are rewritable...awesome!
But, are they fast enough?
They're at 70ns (nano seconds)
Ohio says I need 120ns...which is "faster"?
Will my 70ns chips work?
