I have a model E-2333-3 that goes to "tilt" as soon as the door switch is made (closed).  I can open the door and press the reset button on the hopper board and at this time the tilt light will go off.  As soon as the door hindge switch is made the "insert coin" light flashes on for a split second, then goes off and the tilt light lights up again.  The solenoid below the coin comparator never pulls in.  The display has 8.0.3.1.0.1. code.  The red LED on hopper board is never lite, not sure if it should or shouldn't be on or when.

Thanks for any help, Bob

Bob   not sure what the codes (numbers mean)  I would see if you can run any diagnostic tests, to see if you can talk to the mpu, after you reset the tilt, each time you press the test button on the hopper your display should change to that test number and results of the test are displayed. press one time= master reset, if reels were not locked you should the solenoids click, press 2x ,machine should run threw all the lamps lighting, press 3x = you should be able to press a switch and see that code come up on the display, press 4x  run hopper test counts 10 coins, press5x checks reel readers,  if these work you might have a mechanical problem.  Red lamp on the hopper should be off, only time it is on is when the fuse is blown.

hope this helps

If it's a E2000 series this should be in the other forum...

Anyway... Does your slot have a progressive digital display at the top ?

If so are they all zero's ?

If they are zero the game will tilt until you program some values
other that zero.

You can look at my post(s) here;

http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=4787.0

I had the same problem with mine when I first got it.

Drove me nuts untill I figured it out.

I will be going out tonight to make attempt to repair.  Can any one help me understand how to get to the test mode in the following quote?

Now I'm back to where I was at step one, error  803101 (see top of post)  Well
the last time I got it going, I was messing with different test modes & the key
switches on the side.  It got me into some kind of programing mode where if
I pushed one of the two red switches on the feature panel/progressive display, it would
change the upper or lower display values.  Once I did this, the slot worked normally.

So I'm guessing that the 803101 error was maybe telling me I had to set
the jackpot/progressive payout before the slot would be operational.

this is from a link by litterbox99 http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=4787.0

thanks, Bob

I wish I had a direct answer for ya.  I can tell you I was in one of the different test modes, it was either 6,7 or 8 from
what I recall.  I would go into one of the test modes and was trying different combinations of the two key
switches on the side.

I would turn on the top key , then the bottom... push one of the buttons on the feature panel or
hold one key on and pulse the other, then push a feature panel button or hold both key switches then try
the feature panel buttons or push and hold down one of the feature panel switches  Crazy blah blah blah

Not sure what combo did it, but when I got it, one of the buttons on the feature panel would change the
"tens" position and the other would increment the value.  The slot worked fine once I set the value(s)
I have to admit it was late and I had a few beverages that night ;-)

I've been trying for about an hour tonight trying to repeat what I did with no luck, so I'm missing a step
somewhere.  It would be nice to nail this down, so others with these machines can get them going.

Maybe theres an old timer who may remember how to do this.

Hi and thanks Karma+ for the input.  I picled up the slot last night and have it at my shop now.  I'll work on it as time allows.  If you happen to remember the exact steps please let me know.  I'm sure I'll have a few beverages before this one is fixed.

If anyone else has any suggestions I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks again

Hi Gents,

I've been there... knockout knockout   My E-2344 has a progressive too.  Sorry for not seeing this and posting sooner.  I never did find this info documented anywhere.  So here is what took me months to dig up by word of mouth.

The 802801 in the LED display indicates the Progressive Max value for programming.  If the machine is coming up in this state (never happen to me) I'd assume the same - it wants you to set it.

To manually enter the progressive programming try this:

1- Unlock & open the machine door & remove the top glass
2- Lock the door while in the opened position to activate the lock switch
3- Push and hold both feature switches
4- Now enter test-8 & continue to hold the feature buttons until the progressive arrow lamps light.
5- Release both feature buttons.  You are in the progressive programming mode now. The LED display should read 802801.  The "80" means test 8.  The 2801 indicates the progressive maximum value.
6- Should be able to unlock the door and close it for the remainder of the programming.
7- Use the two feature buttons to advance the digit to the left and then increase the numbers in the progressive display.
8- Turn the Reset key to advance to the next programming variable.

2801= Max progressive value
2901= Min progressive value after a jackpot
3001= Upper current value
3101= Lower current value

9- Program the progression percentage and coin value next.  Set the percentage from 1% up to 16 %.  LED will show "80  1%"  Set the coin value to your machines value (or whatever you want) LED will show "80  .10"  for a dime for example.

If you made a mistake keep turning the reset key to come around again to the parameter you want to fix.

10-  Replace the glass, lock the door closed, the machine is ready to go, the LED displaying "50.000"

If you have trouble start by making sure your two feature switches and the reset key switch are good. Go into Test 3 to confirm proper operation.  You should see the LED display change every time you open and close a switch.  (just like the test procedure in the E2000 manual says, which we all have  Duh! )  Another good tool is Test-2.  As the lights cycle through and the LED display show the bit addresses, numbers 1502, & 1504 should be displayed and make your two progressive arrows lamp light.  If you don't see the 1500 series addresses at all then you may not have the correct game E proms for the progressive.

Lastly, to check your progressive programming you can use the Maintenance Meters procedure, similar to the book keeping meters.  Meter 26 & above relates to the progressive programming (at least on my machine).

So there you go.

Cheers,

Mark

This does work !  Just tried it on my slot  Hail

Is there any other documentation about this
display.  I know when I was playing around with
this a while back, I was able to get the error codes to display
on the progressive.  At one time I had the displays
showing all 1's then 2's  .. etc as I was pushing buttons.

This is great info, because if you swap out your battery or
remove your memory, your gonna need to do this procedure.
I had some weirdness going early on so I removed the memory
and let it sit before reinstalling to erase the contents and clear
up my bug I was having.

This group is awesome !

Thanks to MarkInAZ the Bally is working!  Karma+ to Mark

I do have a couple of issues or questions still.

Right now the upper display reads 30009010 and the lower is 3.  I've never has a progressive display before so I assume I should set this, any suggestions as to what amount?
Also the 50 code will not clear until I open the lock on the door.  If I put the lock in the closed position the machine plays OK but the code 50 remains.  Should the switch be held in the closed position with the door locked?

thanks

Hi Bob, Glad to hear the progressive is working.  Good for you.   Clap  So there are at least 3 of us with functioning electromagnetic progressive displays.

As to the values you choose for the starting point - its totally up to you.  Mine start at 2000 I think.

Now for your code 50, I don't think I understand what you are saying. Is the code 50 comment related to setting the progressive?  Let me tell you how mine operate.  With the door and the hinge switch are in the open position my LED reads 50.000.   With the door closed and locked it will continue to read 50.000 until I run a coin through the machine.  Is this how yours is working?

Hi Mark,

On mine the coce 50 is displayed after opening the door.  I then close the door and turn key to lock door and engage door switch.  I can play machine as many times as I want but the code 50 remains until I turn the door key to raise the latch (I don't actually open the door).  Turning the key to the open position disengage the door switch, then as soon as i make one spin the 50 code is cleared.

I still don't understand what to set the two progressive displays to.   Can you explain what the max and min settings control?

thanks for your help because I can now play the machine.

Bob

Hay Bob,

That code 50 sounds weird.  I wonder if the connections to the lock switch got change so that open is now close and vis-versa.  Are you familiar with the "C, "NO", and the "NC" switch connections?  Try switching the wires on the NO and NC tabs.

Now on to your progressive:  The "max" setting represent the maximum money the progressive will climb to.  (So the casino wont have to pay the winner too much money)  The "minimum" is what the progressive will reset to after someone hits a jackpot.  The reset key clears the jackpot and the progressive starts climbing again from the minimum setting.

Hey Mark,

I am familiar with the normally open, normally closed and common terminals.  I'm just confirming that the switch should be in the closed position when the door is shut and key was is in locked position.  I'll check connections and let you know.

Need a little more help.  I set the upper display to 100000 and the lower to 2000.  When I shut the door both go to 0.  Should this happen?
I've played it for an hour or so but neither display has advance.  When do they increase?
Can you also explain what the max and min values are?

thanks

Hi Bob,  I was wondering how you were doing...

You asked about the max & min values: its the minimun value, the reset value, where the jackpot will start growing from after a jackpot has been reset. The maximun value it the jackpots upper limit, the maximun the jackpot will climb too, after it reaches this level it will stop climbing no matter how many coins are inserted.

When you close the door the two displays should go to the amount you set.  That is what parameters 3001 & 3101 are for.

OK, so its not advancing, lets see. First off what did you set your coin denomination and advancement percentage too? Also what did you set all of the other parametes to? If you are not sure than just go through the programming sequence again and make a note. I'm guessing you some how set the upper limit to zero so it seems like its not working.

Hi Mark,

I set as follows:  2801 = 500,000, 2901 =2000, 3001 = 2000, 3101 = 500,000 (I wasn't able to change this setting).  When I close the door the upper display read 2000 and the lower read 500,000.  After playing severak spins the upper display increased to 20001 and then to 2002.  What does the 500,000 in the lower display represent?

thanks

Oh yes, I see where its getting confusing.  The max & min progressive values pertain to BOTH the upper AND lower displays. The Upper Current value only pertain to the actually upper display and the Lower Current value is only for the lower display.

Does that make more sense?

For example:

I want my absolute maximum win (both top & bottom displays) to be $500,000.00  So at 802801 make the display read $5000,000.00 (just like you did)

I want the jackpot (both upper or lower) to reset after a win to $2,000.00.  So at 802901 make the display read $2000.00 (just like you did)

I want my top display to read $2,000.00 right now when I close the door. So at 803001 make the display read $2,000.00 (just like you did)

I want the lower display to read $4,500.00 right now when I close the door.  So at 803101 make the display read $4,500.00 (NOT like you did)

Your getting close to whipping this horse into submission Bob, keep at it. Cool Thumbs-Up

Hay Bob,
Darn.  OK, I have an idea what might be going on but before we do any "surgery" first list your book keeping meters which are saved in the machines memory.  With the door open activate the reset key and right down all the numbers you get.  There will be twenty or thirty of them.  The small LED coin in meter will count up from 1 or 7, I cant remember at the moment.   It will show say 1, then 435, and 2 then 24, etc.  White those down.  The progressive setting will be in there.
