HI I picked up a topper for my S 6000 Bally Mystic game. I have installed it on the machine but do not know how to hook up the power to this machine. I have hooked up the tower light but there are two big plastic plugs that I do not know where to plug them into. Do I need some kind of power supply for this topper or is there something else I need to buy. Any help would be great. There are no plugs for them to plug into. I have enclosed a picture of the plugs.       I found that the main plug was in backwards inside the topper. I now have it working. The two yellow wires go together and any two gray go together get it to light up to a 18 volt power supply. The red and one gray hook to a 6 volt power supply.

I believe that topper was made more for the 9000.   Should have LED for the backlighting and a small chip on the chaser board that controls the chaser patterns (no external board needed)

**check your wiring in the topper**  It should be, 2 yellow with blue stripe wires (positive 24vdc) and 2 gray with yellow stripe wires 24v neg, used for the backlighting and the
Chaser lights, red with blue stripe (5vdc) and gray with red stripe (5v neg).

So if your topper is all LED you need to find 18-24 vdc and 5vdc for it to work.

Hi Clown,

I installed a few of those bally toppers on S6000
most of the time I used power adapters I had laying around for the 5v
or extra ones in a big junk box I had, in fact one time for the 18v I used one from a cordless drill
that was broke I never throw away any power adapters be it cordless phones etc.
The last topper I installed I didn't have the 18v adapter so I ended up buying one from this place
for like $10 total. Here is a link to the site

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/DISTRIBUTED-BY-MCM-MW1830-UC-/28-2780

I just cut the end off no biggie.

What do you do with all the wires on the plug. There are about 7 wires in the plug. Than there is the small plug with about 5wires.

Well I think that topper is made for the alpha series Bally
in which those plugs fit so what I did was just cut the wires off before the plug, the wires I wanted to use that is,
maybe not the best thing to do as I never know if I will end up owning a alpha game
down the road.I left all wires up in the top box and just ran the power adapters to the bottom
of the cabinet and plugged them in the extra ac outlet.

So what you are saying is that the ones that are 18 volt I could tie together and the ones that are 5 volt I can tie them together and use the right power supply for each set.

Maybe I might get lucky and some one will have an extra power supply for an alpha machine that they will sell.

Correct....

I'm trying to find an old thread on this subject where it had a few pictures and wiring
but if you read what railroad94 posted here in the thread those wires he pointed out
sound correct without me opening the machine up.

Clown,

I took a look at mine and here is my hookup

2 yellow and blue wires +  going to +center of 18v adapter
2 gray and yellow -  going to - side of 18v adapter
4 wires in total from your harness

gray and blue + to center of 6v adapter
gray and red -    to minus side of 6v adapter
2 wires form your harness.

You might pull that topper off and set it on the bench
and test it  with your adapters first unless you rather set everything in the top box and work from there.

Hope this helps.   Tim

Thanks My wires are very long. I can wire them into the botton of the box and use the extra ac plugs in the machine.

Hi OK I got one topper to work because the wires were like you said. Now I have another one to get wired up but the wires are not the same. This unit has three gray wires two yellow and a red wire. So my question is how to wire this one.The picture I took is of this unit. Notice the wire colors. Any help would be great. Thanks Robert
