After Ram Clr...and setting the denom...  I re-installed  XU3.   connected  video cable... Turn machine on.   No Bong.  The "8"   on cpu goes and and then comes back  BLINKING  8   ON / OFF.   On / Off...   and the far left  ( I/O )  "fail"  light is also blinking simultaneous with the  "8".     All the led 's on the right side of  I/O   are solid / and  ON.

Tested  with  known working CPU  ...  CPU   good.    I don't have  another   I/O...

Power supply  issue ?    or  I/O   issue  or what else do I need to look at ?

Thanks.

If all the grouped lights are on the I/O card are on, and the one by itself...the DS1 is off, then the I/O card is good and so is your power supply (or at least should be).  Try reseating the MPU card and when you push it in go at a slight angle pushing on the right side of the card so you are certain all the pins are connection well in the back.  If no good, I would then test the battery and replace if necessary.  After that, if you have the 1.5 type mpu, try the reset button at the bottom left.  After that, compare to a tested working MPU.

Good luck,

Jim

Power Supply  issue.      Thanks. for your input.

Thanks for the follow up.  Thats really interesting to hear also.  My understanding of the 5 red LEDS on the I/O board is that they signify the various voltages being distributed and when they are lit....means all is good.
