I Don't drive agressively, just northeasterly

« on: February 14, 2010, 07:14:10 PM »

Hi,
I just bought my first S2000 unit last week and I;m trying to get up to speed on the technical
side of it. Its sure a big jump from my Bally 809 ! Its a double cherry bar game and according to
the accounting info it has the SB001000 base chip and SG000129 game chips.

Does anybody know if the info displayed in the accounting menus is actually
read from the chips, or is just inventory info loaded sometime in the past? I have four
unlabeled EEPROMS which appear to have been changed (security tape on the board
was broken) Is the SG000129 number specific to a particular game? I did a search
and it seems like other people on the board are reporting that chip but a different
game.  Scratch Head I'm so confused :-)

If anyone has an S2000 manual they could share it would be greatly appreciated!  yes

Thanks in advance,
  Laura

Your SG chips are not game specific. The fact that your SB is a 1000 tells me you are actually running a S-Plus machines software in a S2000 machine.  Nothing wrong with that....just information.  It does mean that you are not using the enhanced sound and instead Legacy sound....like a S-Plus machine.  This also means you must also have S-Reel chip also.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?  Is the machine not running?

SB001000 is U21
SG000129 are U19 and U46
The S+ SS chip is U17
The VS or Stepper Version Chip is U44

The SB001000 is a base chip that allows you to use S+ Reel ROM (SS chip) that is the game theme, paytable, etc
SG is basically the Operating System of the machine

I cant remember what all the Stepper Version actually does besides currency symbol, VFD format. I know it is specific for some areas like NJ, Colorado, International, etc.

No, The machine is working fine. I'm just trying to learn more about it, and in the future I'm probably going to want
to get some other game kits to try out. I was also thinking about adding a standalone progressive board and display to it. What can I say, I'm a retired engineer, too much time on my hands and a new toy to play with :-)

You will open a can of worms adding a progressive to it.
I know because I have a Topper with Spectrum II in it. see my avatar.
My Vision Ready, basically a Early S2000 did have a cham II+ on it as well.
I am doing some multi-denom setup testing with both the Cham II+ and Spectrum II, for another member on here.
Now where did I put that key chip!
