Just got this from an ad on Craigslist. Paid $300. What a steal. Replaced a few bulbs and repaired a couple of broken wires and cleaned some dirty contacts on the step up unit. Some of the springs had lost their tension on the step up unit. Easy fix.

Nice machine, it looks super clean inside!!! It was well taken care of! Thanks for sharing with us K+!!!  Clap Clap Clap

I have not seen one of those games in so long!! I always thought the little lion club was cute peeking over the bar! I remember going to the Reno MGM GRAND when growing up in Reno/Sparks and getting to visit with the real Papa Lion in the old days!

Oh no you did NOT !!!  hissy fit hissy fit

I have wanted one of those for over 25 years (okay, I would prefer a cm version). It was one of the very first slots that I ever played, and I played it with my sister, who LOVED the cute little lion cubs. We took turns putting in money and pulling the handle (one of us would put in the coins and the other would pull the handle). She really wanted to get those cubs, and we hit them! It must have been a 5cm, because I distinctly remember that the prize was $25 (100 quarters) and we had lots of fun scooping up the quarters and carrying them to the cage.

I found one in a Reno slot shop a few years later for an affordable price, but they would not sell it to me because it wasn't California legal (too new).

Seriously, jerry304,  Congratulations  on your excellent purchase. Thanks and K+ for sharing. applause applause  The Wave

I had forgotten about that. They used to let people take pictures with the lion. He was behind Plexiglas, of course -- probably either bored to tears or thinking to himself, "which of these plump, juicy bipedal morsels is going to be lunch?" bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

When I was there there was no plexi, instead they used a "super safe" red plush velvet rope divider like they used to form lines in the old movie theatures, etc.!!!! Crazy Crazy Crazy You used to sit with him for a picture. Maybe your second comment happened and they went to plexi???  Cry Laughing Cry Laughing Cry Laughing

I am sure they do it now for the protection of the Lions not of the people.
it might also come down to the almighty buck as you can now use your $8/hr person to take the pictures rather than a trained animal handler.

Hey really cool machine Jerry304  applause ... I'd like to get my hands on one of these to go with my 2 MGM slots I own. I have a 955 5 line, and a 962 3 line, but mine don't have the cute little lion, both i have are fruit machines... I just picked up the 962 about 2 weeks ago off Craigslist for $125. I was just sitting a a basement of a person who was moving and didn't want to take it with them... I am going to post pic of them for others to see. Once again congrats on your find... Hail

Gary
