I have 2 VFD displays both show signs of burn in or whatever they call it for VFD's

Many pixels are dimmer than others.
Other than shelling out money money for a new one is there anything that can be done?

Foster, I took mine out today so I could check it out and
see if there was anything I could do to beef it up...
Tell you what though, it really doesn't look like it's too "Serviceable"...
The components are flat imbedded chips...araghh!! the hardest things to change...
Randy Fromm has an instruction sheet on how to change them but I tell ya...
it's not for the faint-hearted.
You need special soldering (Wide) tips and flux that reduces the
amount of heat it takes to melt solder long enough so you can pull
the chips off of it's pads without ripping the pads themselves outta the board!
Look at this one...there's some burn in too!
You don't see it when it's on though...
so....all you gotta do is leave it on all the time & pay the light bill...lol>>>

I think it has to do with display itself, not the driver IC's
I think they do not like non moving images or text just like CRT's

I would have to replace the actual display itself Happ wants a arm and a leg for one.
