so my brother shows up with a 1985 model 1634a IGT s slot machine in the back of his truck. The front door is off, the coin mech is missing, the transformer is out, as are the reels and the hopper. Ok...so its really a slot kit!!! LOL ... so as I begin to inspect it, I find that the mother board is gone..OH NO bad news. SO a quick call to the original owner, who is not on drugs as far as I know. The owner spins some sort of tale about how he swapped a mother board with a friend, but the friends board cause a "short" and blew the fuse. So the owner returned the friends mother board, but failed to reteive his mother board, but the owner has the guys number. so I call and sure as heck the guy has the board.... so thats good...
I start looking a little deeper at the rest of the parts in the "kit"  rotflmao and I see that the reel mechs are gone. you know the ones that spin, stop and read the reels!!!!!!!!!! the reels are there, but no way to stop or start them... WTHeck???????? so the question now is ... revivie or part out?????????? btw, I really like the front door shape and style, the cabinet is in great shape and the wiring does not look to hacked, but the game is really odd, no fruits or bells, it has money amounts on it.. Like $1.25, $5.00, $10.00 etc... not very pretty at all..... .....

I think thats an M or M+ rather than an S.

There is a post here that show a video and pics of the missing reel kickers: http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=2374.msg19619#msg19619

M and M+ are the series prior to the S and S+ as far as I know.

The were electrical, but used a kicker system and a cam shaft to reset them. The kickers have two solenoids, one that fires to spin the reels and another fires to stop them. The cam shaft turns in conjunction with them to reset the solenoids after firing.

The reels are general bigger from what I can tell to allow more symbols as no virtual stops existed on them.

Jim will be able to tell me where I'm going wrong on any of this (I hope!)

UPDATE: SORRY JUST REREAD YOUR POST a69mopar AND IT SAYS 'THAT' not 'WHAT'  Duh!

I'm pretty sure Jim at Blueridge has some of these and likely parts available.

Thanks,

Have most M and M+ parts. The key is to get the game chip from the game [ mother] board. I have working boards and maybe 3 good kickers, and maybe a hopper and comparitor. What is the part number on the game board?
