With the door fully closed and latched, what numbers are in your "Win Paid" & "Credit" displays?
Are any of the buttons on deck lit up?
How about the candle?

Do you need to turn the key on the "jackpot reset" to initialize the preset credits/time for tournament, like some of the IGT tournament machines?

It has 5.0. in the winpd window.  when I turn the reset key it puts 0000 in both the winpd and the credit windows and alternates to a 2 digit that counts up from 1 to 14 does that until you press the change button then just goes back to 5.0. . the candle has a steady blue lite

ah...now we're getting somewhere!!!

"5.0" means the "slot door is open"... yes
Check the wires on the cherry switch...
somethings broken.
You know how to use a multimeter to check for
continuity on the cherry switch to see if it works?

The first picture is what your error code should look like.

The second picture is the door cherry switch.
Click on any photo to enlarge it!!!>>>

You didn't hook it up right....error 50 means the door is open.
The machine will not work unless you put the wires back on correctly.
Why did you change the switch in the first place?
What else did you do?
The more you tell us - the more we will tell you!

Use the top 3 connectors on the cherry switch.
Top wire=Black & Blue
Middle wire=Yellow & Orange
Bottom wire=Orange & Black

Mine has 4 wires on each switch

yeah, but the black & blue wires are doubled up? No?
Take a picture and show what you're talking about.
It will help us determine what's going on.

Check any other door switches if there's any.
Code 50 is door open - there's has to be a broken wire
some where on those cherry switch lines.
You have no other choice but to check them all if you
want to get your machine up and running!

Maye the switches are no good?
Can you verify this?
Put the two leads of your multimeter on the switch tabs (checking for continuity),
press the button plunger and see if the meter moves.
If the needle moves, then your switches are okay.
That's when you have to trace the switch wires and see if any of them
are broken at the connectors or pinched anywhere along the lines.
Just follow the colors...

Finally, if you CERTAIN your switches and wires are okay, swap the
MPU board and the backplane board with a known good board.

You're on the right track.
Looks like the door is seeing that it's closed.
The error code "50" is gone away!
Did you try to drop some coins in the slot yet?
Also, and very important...is there any number showing
in the "Coin In" display on the left side of the display board?

Open the door, turn on the machine.
Press the test button until you see "11 D" in the Message display.
Now, print a copy of these two PFD excerpts I've attached below and
bring them to your machine and set option "27" to a credit game.
Which will be (0001) on your display.

Now, go to option [01] and set the Tournament Minutes for "OFF".
This will show (0000) on your display.
Press the max bet button a few times and your machine will be ready to accept coins.

The 145 is discontinued and obsolete...it only takes old bills with the small heads.
You could get newer one.
It will be called the DBV-200 and they have upgraded up the before the new fives came out.
It will only take the old fives.

Take the big coin out of you coin comparitor and install a quarter in it's place.
Once you do that , drop a quarter in the slot and see if it accepts it.

As far as your old stinky DBV - try a dollar bill...and old one if you have one.
It's about all there is in circulation that'll work on your machine.

If the green light is not on, check the DBV connections.
Probably a broken wire right where it goes into the connectors.

Ok I sure hope your not getting tierd of me,, I checked the connections on the BV but all seems good I think its just DOA.. but I tried the quarter trick and well something different when you drop the coin you hear the clank noise thru the speaker but insted of a credit it puts the #3 in the coin in display and the spin light comes on, two more coins will make the sound but the next will drop in the coin return.  Scratch Head

First off if its a 3 coin machine the 4th coin should go to the tray. Unless I have missed something have you ever told us the machine plays are not? Now I'm not 100 % sure but on the front of the MPU tray left side there is a long black plug with one wire going to it I'm pretty sure this has to be unplugged to take it out of tournament mode. Do you have a LED display on top of machine that tells you total won in tournament play?  A couple of pictures would help.

Need to see the insides of machine.  Right below the coin comraritor you will see the optic board ( might have a metal sheild blocking your seeing it ) on the optic bopard there is a very small button if the press it the machine will think a coin has been dropped in, It's ok to press this button and press spin with the door open. Hope the reels will spin.   You can pull up and the comparitor , and optic will come out to give you a better view
