Anyone play the new star trek video slots?  It allows you to make a username and password and as you play you can unlock more game themes.   I played this in Las Vegas and thought it was pretty cool.
WELL I recently found the same machines back here in CT and guess what -  the machine remembered my account!

I had all my medals and open games !      Pretty crazy.    I wonder if there's a special wire that runs from each and every star trek machine back to WMS home base.

From Gold Coast Las Vegas to Mohegan Sun to Ho Chunk Casino.

The whole account thing and the unlocking new "levels/games" within the machine is a sure fire way to get us gamblers to keep on coming back and "investing" more money into this one single slot.  Quite clever!  I unlocked the first 4 stages, the 5th wasn't available yet.

I dont go to the casino as often anymore since I have two of my own slot machines now so if anyone wants to try out the different levels without investing the money and time to unlock the new levels feel free to use this account:  jrr922

I dont remember it needing a password!?!

It makes me think what else may be transmitted back and forth along that "special wire".

Its a "Star Trek" game...there is no special wire...the information is instantly "transported or beamed" to Central Command..  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

In the mid-west they didn't seem to last long.   Around for six months and then out the door.

Perhaps they are being beamed back to the mothership...... LOL  frying pan Oh come on someone had to say it....   yes

On another note if they can provide this kind of functionality country wide, I am note sure why Server Based gaming was a "Casino" thing. If the manufacturers wanted to push this they could just as easily "sell" or lease specific themes then when the casino wanted to change they could simply download it from IGT or whomevers headquarters. They then could lease an application to the casino managers once they become more comfortable with the platform to "move" slots about.

You maybe closer than you know on this one Jay....
Fact is that the Nevada Gaming Commission is AGAINST this due to the ability to CHEAT customers by lowered the payback ratio below the state standard (88% in Nevada).
When I played the WMS "Time Machine" I hit it for a $200+ payout. Was a bonus round where the topbox had 4 out of five wilds up there. When it came time to payout the machine halted.
It didnt "Tilt" but it sat there for the better part of 60 seconds, then finally said "JACKPOT VERIFIED!!" and proceeded to put the credits in the credit window....spooky eh?
It sure looked like it "Consulted" with a "Host" or? I have never seen a Bluebird or Bluebird-2 do this before.....

Where do you think these machines go anyway?  I have never seen more that 4 in any one casino either.   On the strip in vegas the machines are way way old.  When they dump their s2000 I think the price will drop to about $30 for home users!  bust gut laughing
