Please can someone help me. I have looked on the IGT website for a schematic and assembly diagram for the Mother Board on an IGT "I" Game 17" machine to no avail. We had a problem where the mother board give us the following error "Touch Screen communications Error" and we confirmed that the error was with the machine and not the monitor (CRT type). Later we confirmed that the problem was with the motherboard and exchanged it with a 2nd hand untested motherboard which we happened to have. This one proved to also have a problem and shows an error "Meters Disconnect" but the original problem seemed to go away hence proving the motherboard as faulty. The machine has since been fixed by using another motherboard from a machine which is currently down. I need a copy of the assembly board and schematic in order to determine what each plug and jack on the motherboard relates to and which may be responsible for these faults in order to perhaps try to repair one or both motherboards. Can anyone out there help in any way. Kind regards from South Africa - Evan

Howzit Evan

Lekker to see another South African on NLG. There is a chip on the processor  that likes to pop that causes the meter disconnect - usually as a result of hot swapping IO card's which is not a good idea.
Have a look at this thread - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=7435.msg66465#msg66465. - Also have a look at Bellbenchttech other info. Lots of really good repair info there especially on CRT's .
The touchscreen is on the netplex bus as well as the BV, ticket printer etc. I remember on the older type Game Kiing BV problems would sometimes cause the TS to go down.

Will email schematic shortly.

Thanks for the schematics etc - appreciate the assistance. The only problem is that we have confirmed that the main processor board is OK. We can swap it into another machine at it works OK. The fault lies on the motherboard (backplane board) which I cannot find a schematic or assembly diagram for. I have two spare mother boards and both have problems - one has the meter disconnect message and the other has the touch screen comms error. I was hoping to perhaps make some repairs on the mother/backplane board. Got the diagrams thanks. Regards

I don't have a spare motherboard to take a picture of but I had two with burned traces. Both of them had the same trace burn in the same place, and I repaired them by bypassing the bad spot by soldering a jumper wire in.  As I remember  it's at the top about 1/2 to 3/4 inch from a molex plug.  Scratch Head Scratch Head Scratch Head ( close to edge of board )

Hi "Buzz". Can I send you a picture of the motherboard that we have the problem on? I would obviously have to send it to your emil address as i don't know how to post a photogrph in this forum. Let me know with perhaps an email address and i will do so and then maybe you can guide me to the appropriate area.

thanks for your input - regards Evan
