Hi,
My other machine that I’m dealing with is a multicoin E2000 machine that is having a really odd tilt problem.  I read Barry’s recent emails on tilting and reader error and I think have eliminated that problem.

With one coin works and pays correctly:
Reel one award OK
Reel one and two award OK
Reel one, two, and three award OK.
Reel three only award OK (cherry)

Can play as many single coin plays as I want.

Put in two coins and trouble happens!  Tilt 42
1 play OK
2nd play may or may not  happen correctly.
I have successfully played up to 6, 2 coin plays before failure.
Have had a three reel payoff  - bars and bell.
Playing 1,2,1,2 coins was no different then playing 2 coins for every pay.

Any suggestions where to look?
Thanks,
Jeff

the normal answer - 42 means you have a defective reader (2nd reel) - number of coins should never have any bearing on the reel reader not reading.  my suggestion is when you do get the 42 error - do a 5 test and see what the reader is reading.  Also run the machine in 8 test - play the 2 coins and see what happens.  Again - number of coins has no impact on reel readers UNLESS?  is this a buy a pay maybe?

Barry,
Thanks for the reply.  Forgot to include in my initial post the first reel always stops and the other two spin during failure.

Test 8 worked fine - indicate an 82 and machine worked.

Test 5 was interesting.  saw on one test  1441, 1141, 11c1  then 1141,11c1  Kind of intermittent - could be the problem.

Will try switching reader 2 and 3 and see if the problems change and will report back.
Cheers,
Jeff

Barry,
You are Right.  The machine tilted, but the first two reels stopped and the third kept on going.

I'll see if I have one laying around, if not is it cheaper to buy or repair?
Thanks,
Jeff

try switching the 3 and 2 reader to see if the problem moves - if it does the reader is bad - if not then you may have bad contact or reader control board.  we repair the readers.
