Taking the slot out of the equation the COIN-IN basically is a momentary closure of two contacts.
If you briefly tap the two wires together it should cause your meter to increment.
I am not sure how to program a CDS (I own Mikohn) but Casinos usually set the progressives so that 8 x 25c in = 1cent increment.
So you may need to tap the leads together between 8 and 16 times to get it to move up by 1 penny.

If this works then the next question - have you inserted enough coins into the slot to get it to increment 1 penny.
I do hack wiring at best so I always program my progressives that 1 coin in = 1cent increment that way I am sure its working.
Nominally this is 4% (4 pennys for 4 quarters).

Assuming all has gone well so far but actual coins on the S+ still is not allowing it to increment.
You then have to check and see if the S+ is setup for linked progressive ?

Depending on your game chip you enable linked progressive one of three ways.

1. Dip Switch on the mother board - this is older game chips.
2.  731 you would likely do this in the S+ setup... follow the PSR sheet.
3. If you are using a newer chip like as 1271 and a SET90 chip you enable it with the SET90.

If you are not sure what gamechip you have follow RICKS FAQs to identify this, post back, then we/I can be more specific on the actual steps to enable the S+ for link.

Looks like a nice sign. April is aces.

Dip #5 Progressive on
Standalone system Dip 6-8 off

I have a SP1271 game chip
SS4695 reel chip 3 Coin Multiplier

Hey guys, I don't have any experience with the progressives as of yet, but shouldn't that stand alone switch be on since it is not hooked to a network?

The CDS or the Mikon in this case is the network.

The S+ is very simple. You have a 4 pin connector on the mother board.
One of the pins is labled as not-used. The other three are Coin In, Gnd and Data.
The Coin In and Grnd momentarily short for each coin or credit played and they short for a longer 3-5 second interval to trigger the jackpot.
The Data In is used to send progressive information back to the LEDs. Its not really needed and not used with a Mikon CON1.

With the 1271 the dip switches don't make a difference. You can set this through the Self Test, Setup button.
Do you have a PSR ? - I am currently at the office with no access to my reference material.

Just as a test I would try shorting the wires briefly to see if it increments.

A PSR is a Program Summary Report.
Each Game Chip (ie your 1271) has one of these sheets.
For the Most part they follow the same format but there are differences.

When you hit the White Button inside it steps through a bunch of major options called Groups.
Which group is which is explained on the PSR, you then have submenus which you get to with the reset key, and finally you select options using the spin wheel button.

As I am at work I cannot send you one but perhaps one of our other members has handy acces and will do that.

There is also a sheet called a PAR sheet which stands for Pay and Reel Table. These are specific to your reel chip and explain the percentages, pay frequency, reel strip symbols etc. Very informative.

SET090 is pretty common, any of the vendors should have it for less than $20.

But you are correct in thinking the machine won't send the pulse until the progressive is enabled with the chip.

Holy thread revival Batman!

I had to post this here because it's really a continuation of how this board works.
An NLG member asked me how to hook up the ProSolo progressive board and
there are a few threads sort of covering this but not as extensively
as I am going to attempt for future members who may run into this board.
This will help those that should wish to learn how to hook one up:

On the ProSolo board at power header 3-pin J5,  needs orange 12Vdc and
Black ground wires to power it up.
I've attached a photo here showing that the 12V(orange) goes into pin-1.
Pin-2 is the ground( black) while nothing goes into pin-3.
As always, download the picture and upload it to Winblows Picture Viewer or
whatever allows you to see this photograph a little bit larger
so you can see it without magnifying glasses...>>>

Now, turn the CDS Proview display panel over.
Connect the power harness to the 4-pin J3 display panel header
on the right side of the panel board.

Pin-1=5Vdc (Red)
Pin-2= Not Used (Empty)
Pin-3=Ground (Black)
Pin-4=5Vdc (Orange)
The 10-pin ribbon cable gets connected to the 10-pin J2 display panel header.
Try to orient the orange stripe of the ribbon cable on the left #1 pin.

The other 10-pin J1 ribbon header is the return data output port for certain machines like the PE poker games
which allows progressive display information to show up on the game screen.

There are also 2 pots located at R6 and R5 which are used to make red and green color adjustments.

The 10-pin ribbon coming from the display panel goes into this J4 10-pin board header
Again, try to orient the orange stripe to pin-1...>>>

The ProSolo gets it's input from the S+ motherboard's 4-pin J12 header.
Why the pin numbers are backwards on these boards is a mystery...
It's also backwards on the J12 motherboard location so it's pretty much
a straight line cable harness right into to the motherboard on the S+ in the second picture.
Use whatever colors you like for the 4 wire harness...I prefer funky purple and lime green... Tongue Out

That Zodiac Jackpot game...is it an S+ or what?
It used the straight four pins down to the motherboard from the ProSolo board?
Is it adding/scrolling credits onto the display panel?
I wonder what's going to happen when it goes into "Hand-Pay" mode?

I did use a straight 4 pin cable from the mpu to the progressive board
yes it is adding 1 credit for each coin played
I am not shure what will happen when it goes to hand pay mabey it will reset to the default 1000
