Ok well I figured out how to get it scrolling text.. Now Im still in need of some animations for a 1x2 any help with this would be great.. Also this sign is not hooked up to any slots with I need to put the message in the Mess.do or is it ok to leave it in the jpot.do. I didnt know if after two min of not seeing a coin in if the supreme controller you change to mess.do or not?

It won't hurt if you program the exact same message in all of the messagedo's & jackdo's.
It will just keep playing them.
As far as animations, I haven't really learned how to make any yet.
That's another project...

Welcome to NLG, Superoz!

I'll be happy to make you a custom 1x2 "No Smoking" animation if you'd like.  It'd be fun for me to do, as I'm still practicing animation creation for the Supreme.

Do you have text scrolling right to left, or bottom to top?  I've never figured out how to do right to left scrolling, but would be thrilled if you could post as to how you did that!

All I did was use PSP to make a file Such as (f1 to start Paragraph then my text commands F3 which is travel motion im pretty sure this is right to left F6 is speed control and then I picked a color shift F7) So it should look like this F1 F3 F68 (Shift F7) Thank you for not smoking!! Then I sent it to controller as mess.do and Jpot.do. Also used downloader to make background.bat and my .pdf Hope this helps if you have any more questions ill try to answer.

Thanks for your reply.

I've strictuly been using downloader to manipulate my Supreme (also not connected to a machine -- just using it as a display board).

What does your backgrnd.bat file look like to make the mess.do message display?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.  I guess what I'm asking is, what is the line of text you use in the backgrnd.bat file to trigger the mess.do or jpot.do?  I've been coding my backgrnd.bat files by hand...

New here, the animations are attached.

The Supreme was an image based device, whereas the preceeding Chamelon displays were text based.  To create a "NO SMOKING" either use a very simple "pulsing" effect using the (very) old Storyboard program or create a *.MIK file from a something that produces a *.FLC fil (converted by flc2mik.exe).  Both techniques can be used on displays up to 4 panels, past this there is not enough RAM to process both types.

I have attached a couple of animations, one coins falling the other a win.  Note that some effects with a Supreme need a phantom row to be defined so that while an edge can fall "off", the body is on the screen (also essential on displays with multiple jackpot).  The Hyperterminal command for a 1x2 would be "panel 0 2 2" and a 2x3 "panel 0 3 3".  Familiarity with Hyperterminal is a great advantage with a Supreme.

 NLG Welcome McCackie  wave

I verified that your files were indeed falling coins and falling coins with the word "winner" attached while you were writing your previous post. I also deleted your duplicate first post.

For those who are interested in programming for the supreme, the topic has been covered on this board.

Glad to have you aboard.

Hey hey, welcome to  nlg!  Glad to have you here!

How do you program your Mikohn animations?  With the help of SAT (a member here) I was able to figure out how to do some with an older version of Paint Shop Pro and its bundled Animation Shop which can output to .flc format.  It's crude, but it works, and I've been able to make some halfway decent Supreme animations, although nowhere near as good as the ones Mikohn put out.  I don't know enough about animation creation to do more advanced stuff, but I can at least use some of the pre-programmed effects in Animation Shop to make exploding text and the like, and Paint Shop Pro to create custom graphics (custom logos, crude images, etc.).

Programmed using ULEAD Gif Animator 5, it can be tweeked to produce 3 extra "colours", that is a yellow with red as leds flicker between yellow and red at a controllable rate, red with black and green with black, very handy particularly as a colour for gold and shaded areas (see galaxy).  This program will only go down to 30 pixels height so that is one of the reasons I set up with a phantom row.  A 1x2 is set up as a 2x2 (and etc).  Attached is a technique example for a jackpot celebration on a 2x3 for a small State wide system here (gone now).   I did a lot of the stuff in and about Australia including Galaxy in Macau.

Very cool -- K+ for the additional information.  I'm about to leave for vacation so it'll be a couple of weeks before I can break out a Supreme to play with and try those animations, but thanks for sharing them (and how you designed them).

Once I get back I'll upload a few animations I created for some clients.  They're all 1x1 stuff, but I was pleased with how they came out.

The thing with Mikohn is not what they say it can do but what you can MAKE it do.

Happy to help, the purpose of a display is to show the money and the 2x3 is great  iff properly programmed.  There are more methods including simple text files to tweek things along (attached 1x2).  I have been putting them back in as they look the part.

I am very impressed......I especially like the fact that you can spell collour the correct way.

I have been looking for a new "can" for my Mikon gear much like that Queen of the Nile for a while now.
I plan to put a larger style supreme inside of this.....

Do I spell it with 2 "l"s; this needs a better spells-checker!  In the US did they upgrade the power supply core so that the 2x3 can be powered by a single supply? We moved to a 150 watt unit from the same manufacturer which did 6 panels and the Supreme and put a connector into pin 9 position in the power loom.

A useful trick is to shift the Supreme to a 10.5-12vdc, 1amp or more power pack using J2, it on average draws, at 5vdc, much the same as a panel with text on it (1.4 amp avg) which relieves the panels power supply, helpful if the old unit is fading and especially if the signs ventilation is a bit poor to de-rate the load.  If you do, make sure to bend a pin on J1 to stop idiots, damage can occur with 12vdc via a 5vdc input over time.
