Hi everybody.

Hi have a problem with some E-motions, I set machines correctly, I tested and everything worked well, but two day after 3 of them have the problem that all funtions work very slow, example: when I push play buttom, the funtion start 10 seconds afther, to see the accounting menu is the same problem.

Can somebody tell me what could be happening?

Thanks

I have worked with these platform, and sometimes the ram which is located on the cpu.... got to have it clean with a white pencil eraser. I know I know..... arrow not a typical technical procedure. But worked for me.

Emotions also tend to heat up bad sometimes, this can cause them to slow down and freeze up, check your fans located in the cage with your multi-media board, make sure they are both working and that the vents are clear.

Check that your heat sinks are all in place and functioning (may need to add/remove thermal transfer paste) as well as check and clean your cooling fans.

Atronic uses a security chip on the mpu that is specific to each program number.  often when changing themes these chips are forgotten and the slow-mo mode will appear.  on the eMotion mpu it is an 8 leg eprom, i cant recall the location of the security chip on the board and we've pulled all of our eMotions off the floor so i dont have a board to look at anymore.  sorry i cant be of more help but i would definitely check the security chip to make sure you have the correct version for the theme installed.  g/l

It's located at U-22, if you are looking at the board from the front it is on the left side near the rear, fairly close to the edge connector.

Would the security chip also be with the black cube secrity chip?  I have seen one or the other but not both and the same time.

i believe the big ugly black cube was for the cashline platform.  on the eMotion i've only seen the small 8 leg eprom

I have only worked on 30 or so E-motions and all of them had the Black security cube.

In regards to this thread it was noticed that memory was the issue with slowdown and I was able to fix it by adding a 256MB stick to the main CPU board.   Having 512MB total fixes many of the memory issues that I am aware of.

No worries, the black cube is a security dongle, yes it was on cashlines but it is also on later emotion software, I believe they start using dongles again on B level software, A level, or most A level uses security chips. A program will either use one or the other, don"t believe I have ever ran across one that uses both.

Some of the programs, especially later ones, King Kong Cash & Cash Fever needs or works much better with 512k of RAM.

Emotions get really hot and tend to reboot themselves because of the high temperature. I've seen emotions that have been modified to help with the heat issue. Two fans were installed on top of the machines to help draw more heat out of them. I would suggest adding extra vents if they were being installed back to back as the vents are on the backs of them.
