I haven't met a Jackpot that I didn't like!!!

« on: May 30, 2010, 12:00:13 AM »

GCMOMMY garfield HAD SURPRISE SURGERY!

I was told by her not to say anything, but you all know how well that I mind! bust gut laughing bust gut laughing bust gut laughing We are all family here, so I felt that I should share it with everyone, and let all know that it went fine! My answer to her will be that she was high on Pain Meds and still groggy from the surgery when I talked to her yesterday! arrow arrow arrow I will tell her that she told me to post about it, and that she must be confused!!! Crazy arrow Crazy

Yesterday she was having some bad pains, and feared that she was having a heart attack... Bad enough that she went to the Hospital! Help Help Help They examined her and told her that it was not a heart attack, she was relieved, and was ready to want to go home... They said, not so fast as we are going to get you prepped for SURGERY! That did not exite her at all! She was told that she was having problems with a very inflamed GALLBLADDER, and they were gonna take it out!  bawling

It was supposed to happen later, and then they came in and said lets go, and Joey had not gotten back to the hopsital when they took her in! He was back and waiting for her to come out all better, but minus her Gallbladder! yes

She is doing fine, and I thought that she might like to see a few messages telling here to get better! (Even if I was not supposed to post!  Crazy Cry Laughing Tongue Out )

Bunker,

The Gallbladder is like a muscular pouch that stores Bile from the Liver, and when triggered it contracts squeezes and squirts the Bile into the intestines to aid digestion. At least that is what I remember about it.... Maybe we have a doctor member that can be more accurate??? I wonder if we have a Doctor Member? Actually I wonder what alot of our members do???

From the Internet....
Quote

What Does The Gall Bladder Do?
The Gall Bladder is a storage vessel for liver bile. It acts as a reservoir for holding bile on its way from the liver to the intestines.

Basic Functions of the Gall Bladder
We all know that blood flows through all regions of our body. It brings nutrients and waste from cell to cell. The Liver acts as the main filter for this blood and it is the main eliminator of waste in our body. Its job is to remove all forms of waste, including dead blood cells and toxins. The waste product that is created as a result of the Liver cleansing out toxins - is bile, which is being manufactured at all times. Not being wasteful, the design of the human body actually has a use for this bile other than simple elimination. Bile is the main substance responsible for the breaking down of fat in the digestive system. The gallbladder is the organ that receives the bile from the liver and stores it until it is needed in the digestive system to break down fats and cholesterols.

The Gall Bladder - Potential Problems
There are really only three problems that can occur with the Gall Bladder, all of which are treated with surgery in the United States. These problems are:

The gall bladder can get irritated and swollen.
The gall bladder can develop stones within it.
The passage leading from the gall bladder to the intestines can get blocked.
There are herbal remedies for most of these situations, which are quite effective. However the best course of action to take when an individuals gallbladder is painful or infected is to consult a physician immediately. An in depth examination should be performed and the physician should determine if the inflamed patient is best served by treatment or surgery.

How do we function when the Gall Bladder is removed?
In western culture the Gall Bladder is usually removed when infected or partially blocked as a burst gall bladder is a MAJOR health risk. The removal of the gall bladder will result in a lack of smooth flow between the Liver and the individuals fat digestion. Most individuals that have had their gall bladder removed will need to either watch their fat intake, or balance their fat with bile supplements and enzymes.

Homer Insane  Been there...done that!  I glad she is ok, I wish her a speedy recovery.  My wife had hers removed some 15+ years ago..then about 8 years
ago, I started having trouble with mine. I had the ultrasounds done, and yep, mine was full of a bunch of tiny stones, etc. (They called it sludge)
Made an appointment to see the surgeon on a Thursday for the next Monday, and Friday morning I got hit with intense pain.   Finally gave in and went to the hospital.
I was begging for somebody to shoot me in the head! Gave me a TON of pain meds while they ran some tests. They said I had developed pancreatitus!
Admitted me for surgery, but said they had to get the infection under control first. I was on IV antibiotics for 4 days and finally had the surgery.
When the doc got in there he freaked!  My gallbladder had gone gangrenous!  no  They had to carve me up like a Christmas goose and take a part of my bowel out as
the gangrene had started to spread!  It took me 2 months to recover before I could go back to work,  Doc said another day or two and it would have killed me!  ttth

Anyway, again my best wishes for her and you, May God Bless her and give her complete health quickly!  hyper
