What kind of head are you using on it when it's accepting the bills but not posting credits?  Are there any dip switch settings, and are they the same between the working head and the non-working head?

I have tried both a DBV145 and DBV200 heads. Both appear to set up normal. Both will accept a biil and put the bill into the cash box. However, no credits get registered. It acts as if the bill acceptor is not talking to the computer. I went to thr JCM site and it mentions for Bally there is a 044 and 045 pre 2K software and a 044 and o45 post 2K software. This machine was built in 1996. This may indicate I would need the pre 2K software or updated main chips. Any ideas.
