Here's an interesting colectors machine. Something OpBell would be interested in.
A bit pricey.

In Vegas;

http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/sys/1911802232.html
Jack pot Jewels- 05
Multi Poker- .25
20 MHZ Oscilloscope
467 Restorer/Analyzer
two Mother Board Sets
Central Pneumatic Drummer Tool
The original Blind Rivet Pop
Lead Free Solder Gun
Coin Compacter Tester
St 1GT Board and Monitor Tester
Chip Tester
Hopper - .25
IGT Chips (tons of them)
(1 set of each) Silver and Bronze table legs
2 Black stands
Misc parts for slot machine

The two machines listed they want $400 for the slot (looks like a narrow cruise ship slot) and $500 for the bar poker game in woodgrain cabinet. Not a fire sale.
The machines have pic's in another add; http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/sys/1911793592.html
And everybody needs a "Coin Compacter Tester"  bust gut laughing

Not a bad o-scope. The crt analyzer might come to better use though. Careful if you use it as it'll kill a picture tube FAST if used improperly. I used one just like that for years before it went tits up and got replaced yes

This one has been listed for at least 2 months now...
The price has stayed the same to whole time it's been posted.

it will stay there especially at that price - it is a Jennings electronic.  Not a bell ringer by any means.

lol...yes, I asked them to remove the wood...
She said ( sounded like the daughter) he "winned" which
I assume meant he was "whining"...lol rotflmao
In the end, they wrote back to me saying that they were very happy.
I'll be happy too - if I get it...lol
I never bought anything on Craigslist before but I used my credit card
which should cover my purchase.
I invited the "dad" to join us here at NLG.

Thanks for the post Uniman!
I've always wanted to play with an oscilloscope. yummy New toy for me...
I used one in Pelco Security camera classes I took a few years ago with PTZ's & multiplexers.
I hope it works - seems like the "dad" knew something about slots! yes

Good point. But all my TV's are LCD and none of my games. Would be great for someone with a bunch of Gamekings with predominantly red, blue or green pics on their crt's. I've still got the $2k sencore I replaced my old one with applause Cheaper repair than the $700.00 LCD conversion

Ah good! I need to pick your brains on a couple of things with an 35" tube I have.
I want to hook up a VGA multi-game computer to it.
Any recommendations on CGA-2-VGA converters and where best to get them? China?
PM me so we don't have to hijack this thread?

Wouldn't it be easier to run off your computer video card to the tv with composite or svideo? Looks like the adapters are about $6 on fleabay, but it depends on what you have for inputs on the tv

Here's a link to several of those scopes for sale on fleapay right now. You might need probes if it doesn't come with any, and you might have to calibrate it.

BK 2120

I had been looking at scopes a few months back, mostly just to mess around with, to learn more about reading digital signals, and to be able to find analog voltage problems.

How's a scope gonna help unless you know what the waveform your looking at is suppose to look like?

Differant cicuits, differant wave forms, your read it like ekg tapes. Most schematics will have a picture of what a particulr wave form SHOULD look lie

Good point.

Some of the information can be discerned through schematics and technical manuals, including clock timing cycles for digital pulsed signals.

As far as analog waveforms go, Bunker could start by learning about the circuitry of the specific slot that he wants to tackle, and take readings on a known good board to get familiar with what to expect.

He could always check a suspect circuit's waveform against the same reading in a known good machine for irregularities. He could also ask the expert members here for help, both in determining if there are problems, and for help in learning to understand what the readings mean.

There are also books on electronic diagnostics that he could read that will help him advance his knowledge of circuit diagnostics.
