Usually when this sort of thing occurs the reel strips are misaligned.
It could also be that the chips installed in the system don't match the glass / strips but this is less likely.

How long have you had the games ?

The strips have little notches in them.
The reel baskets have little nubs that the strip notches go into.

The reel assemblies have a small thumb bolt that can
be loosened to adjust the height of the reel assembly.
However, that only moves about a 1/4" up or down I believe.

That could very well be a possibility.
Maybe the Black Gold MPU is in the Wild Party & vice versa?

What personality chips are in the U28 and U43 sockets now?
Also, what are the order of your strip symbols from top to bottom on all 3?
It may be  just a matter of your strips in the wrong notch?
Most vendors have these eproms.
They are located on the top of the home page.

This is not the best way but it might help the cause.

The first thing to check is do the symbols on the reel strips match the theme..... I have seen people put just any reel strip on a machine just to say "parts complete, working" and ship it out the door. If these don't match then we need to go through and determine what chips, what glass, what strips and get you matched up properly.

Assuming they match - my next quick test is to check the alignment of the reel strip.

Start with a empty coin tray.
Play the game until you win something.
Compare what the winning combo is to what is payed out.

For instance if you get 6 credits / coins for 2 bars and a 7 this is NOT a winning combination. Subsequently I suspect (one) of your reel strips is wrongly placed.
As per Bunker suggested, turn off the machine (reels will then go slack and be easy to move) remove the offending reel strip (find the seam and they just pop off).
There might be more than one mis-aligned.....
When you look at the strip there will be a knotch someplace. Using your fingernail put it in the crease of the plastic reel and turn until you feel the little nub.
Align the knotch over the nub and fit the reel strip back on.
When you turn on the power and close the door the reels will spin back to their orginal position. Is this now a winning combination with the correct pay out....

If the above hasn't solved it please report back your chip numbers, and theme (pictures are always good too). We will keep pounding this until we get a resolution.
We were all new at one point so no harm in asking questions..... no one is going to flame you for being inexperienced with this stuff......they save that for me.

On a Bally 5500 there are two notch's on each reel strips. notch closest to the end of strip is for a upright machine, other notch is for slant top machine.

what are the symbols below the wilds shown in the pic?  are they single bars?  There should be 2 sets of notches as Buzz said, unless they are custom made strips.  How far from the end of your strip is the notch you have it aligned by?

I'll look for your U18 and U20 (personality chips) numbers.

Thanks,
Wayne

I'm pretty sure you have the wrong personality chips.  I'll wait for the pics to be sure.  have you had any 2 credit pays?  does the paytable show any 2 credit pays?

Thanks,
Wayne

you definitely have incorrect personality chips.  I believe your machine is a custom theme cloned from another for a casino.  We just have to match your paytable to the one it was cloned from.
