Any help  accepted  I am trying to install a double jokers wild in a 1700 everything sets up normal but when it reads the CD everything is normal till about half way thrugh the varification then it goes to an error INVALID ROM SETTINGS  I instaloled another CD and same thing. I cleared machine and get same error. What am i doing wrong.  Scratch Head Duh! Hail                      Thanks in advance  Paul

Hi Paul, I would make sure the game chip is seated properly,if so,I would say a bad chip. If it was the cd ,it would say mis-match...cause it read the chip

Thanks Randy I think you are right when i made chips I used flash chips just because they were cheaper I am waiting on an order from Mouser with eprom plcc 27c4001 will let you know of outcome      Thanks for your help Paul

Yup,them flash chips will not work. You should be good to go when you get the other chips  yes

I'm curious as well, as I know that you are thorough and have probably already verified that the pins perform the same functions in the read state. Scratch Head

One way to find out is to go to the mouser website and look up the
specs of these two chips to see what voltages are applied to their legs.
They're not all alike!

 Scratch Head I really do not know either. I was given flash chips and they read good. However,they would not load. Has to be the speed or voltage  Scratch Head . I just know they would not work,so stayed away from them
