I am having problems getting a bally 6000 going. I have several boards and none of them seem to be working.  Most of the time when powering on I get a reset light flashing and I saw nowhere  that tells me what that means in the manual. I am confused!!!!

The reset light should only "briefly" flash when powering up.
If the LED light continues to blink and the machine has no error codes
on the display, then I'm going to take a couple of guesses here>>>

1). Pull out you chips and re-seat them them sure no pins are bent or folded under.
Make sure they are lined up with the pin socket holes before pressing down on top of the eprom case.

2). Check the board edge pins carefully to see if any of those are bent.

3). Unsolder the battery, check with multimeter for proper voltage, re-solder or replace then
insert the proper clear chips and perform a Full Ram SafeClear operation.

After you set all your options to the way you want - your machine should up and running!

Yeah that stuff is common knowledge though for any game platform. I have already looked into that stuff before and still get problems.

Well the basics of this platform is the same as others.  It's obvious that your MPU board won't boot (reset light flashing).  Bunker listed good possibilities, however you may have a bunch of bad MPU boards.  Did you have any of these boards up and running before?  do you have only one machine or it this the same across the lot? I take it that you checked for the voltages from the power supply/supplies?  Casinos have a habit of pulling good boards from sale machines to replace bad boards from the floor, anything is possible.

Thanks,
Wayne

you are absolutely right! Wayne. And I am not saying you didn't help Bunker, I appreciate any words of wisdom. I was just saying I already checked that stuff.

Morspeed,
Do you have a known good board to try in your machine?
Has this machine ever worked before?
Can you go back to your vendor and ask if you can buy a
known good MPU from so you can use it in yours?
Try some other chips perhaps?

They are not THAT expensive and it's always good to have a
known good spare if it turns out that the problem lies elsewhere.  yes

Troubleshooting a machine takes time and you MUST
have known good spare parts in order to succeed!

Okay,
Take good care of that baby....it's your only "known good" one.
I'd still get another spare MPU if you plan on keeping your machine.  yes

Well,
The "100" in front of the "F1" means 100Ns (Nano seconds)...
That's how fast the chip/device is capable of sending and receiving data in and around your machine's brains.
Zooooomm!
That's pretty freaky fast! lol
My chips are the same so that's not your problem.

I'd like to add that the "F1" in chip terminology doesn't mean "Formula One" -
as in high-performance racing cars... Tongue Out

It is giving me a 32 error code which is hopper empty or no coins have come out. It does not have a hopper in it. Do I need to change settings?

You need to set the hopper limit to zere and set the payment from tickets only (if you have tickets).
You will need to do a saferam clear also.

It isn't going to print more than the first ticket without other stuff done, just make it hand pay on all cash outs unless you put a hopper in it

Make sure the machine is set to (0000) in option #61.
I'm suspecting you may have that one set for the secondary attendant key - which you don't have.

Carefully read pages 14 and 15 in the manual I sent to you...

What is your setting for option # 58?
